House of gold

    It's been two days, my mom wasn't gonna make it so I had to say my final words today. I lay in the bed next to her. I missed her voice, her smile and her golden laugh. I wanted her back at home sipping orange juice on the porch.
"Hey mom," I paused and look at her. She looked so peaceful," I love you, I miss you, I will forever remember you and your laugh. You raised me right, I will always be your little girl. Even though I don't have those horrible pigtails anymore." I laughed as tears go down my face." I will get whatever killed you. I understand you protecting me and I appreciate you will all my heart. I remember you use to tell me 'Clem, never say sorry, it shows weakness' but mom, I'm sorry for not being the perfect daughter to you. I know you tried your best with me. I never told you how grateful I was for you, but I was so grateful mom. I just wish I didn't have to say goodbye before you saw my first heartbreak." I get up and look at her, Colby was at the doorway with Jake talking. I then remembered the song my mom loved for me to sing. House of gold by twenty one pilots. I look at Colby afraid to ask if he could get My ukulele but he seems to deep into conversation with Jake so I just popped it in. I get my moms hand and kiss it.
"This is for you mom." I say as I get the ukulele and started to strum.

    A tear slips down my eye as I finished strumming. I look up and Colby and jake who's attention was on me, I knew what they were talking about before. My dad who is still alive and in this hospital. I smiled at them as I put my ukulele down, I stand up and look at my mom. I kiss her forehead and close her eyes.
"Goodbye mom, I love you. To the moon and back." I say and I walk away, it was hard to do that but I knew she wouldn't want to be attached to tubes. I stood in front of Colby, he opens his arms as I lung myself in his arms. He rubs my back as I just stood there hugging him with no emotions. My heart still felt numb, I wish it had feeling again so I could feel Colby again.
"I know you're my brother." I tell jake as I looked at him, his eyes go wide, Colby sighed as he pulled back.
"And you know your dad is here too." Colby says
"Yes, and I wanna see him." I say as I looked at both of them. I look back at my mom and I smile at her before I fully left the room. I talk to a nurse about my mom and she says it will be done once I'm back. I then followed jake and Colby to my dads room. He was sat up in bed eating some pudding, I look at the tv and seen NCIS was on and he was watching it. Jake stood in front of me, I was nervous I haven't seen my dad for 12 years.
"Jake, can you get me some pizza. This pudding is crap." He says and I laughed because that sounded like me. Jake also laughed.
"Who is that behind you." My dad says and I step out behind jake. His mouth dropped as soon as he saw me. His eyes sparkled when he saw me.
"Hey dad." I say as a tear goes down my eye.
" come here little bug." He says as he started to stand up and walk to me. I hug him and it was just like when I was a kid.
"I'm sorry about your mom." He says to me as he rubs my back.
"Why did you leave me." I asked as I pulled back. He signed and sat down, he tells Jake to shut the door and come sit down next to where I was about to sit. Me and jake sit down and I cross my legs.
"I didn't leave, I was forced by the grand wizard to keep you kids safe. Me and your mom were deeply in love and hated that we had to separate. But we sit sent each other pictures of you guys so we didn't feel left out." He says
"Why did you have to keep us safe." I asked
"Colby, your guardian, was my student. I taught him everything he knows. I knew of his past and his tragic death. Then he was assigned to you as a protector after I was forced to leave. I was more the happy about it but I knew the thing that killed Colby was after me also because Colby had chosen to be a guardian. It wants him completely gone and whoever's gets in its path gets killed without hesitation." My dad says
"Do you know brennen Taylor." I asked
"Do I know him? Yeah, he was always in jail as a kid when I was a cop in the real world." He says
"We need to stop him, he's the one that is out for Colby." I say
"You're gonna need help, and weapons." He says. For some reason I didn't feel uncomfortable anymore, it seemed like I've known my dad this whole time.
