Caleb's POV

I'm standing on the edge of a lake. I've never seen it before, that I know, but I recognize it.

"Caleb!" Jason calls. I turn, and there he is. He smiles, illuminating his eyes, and reaches his hand towards me. I grab it and pull him closer to me.

"Jason," I murmur, placing my lips on his. His arms go around my neck, and mine move to his waist. His fingers tangle in my hair, while my fingers dig into his hips.

"I love you, Jason," I whisper.

"I love you, Caleb!" He screams, mouth wide.

"Jason, what's wrong?" I yell, panicking. I try to pull him close but he pushes me away. I look down at his body, now shirtless, and see blood pouring from what seems like everywhere.

"Caleb, find me! I can't make it much longer..." he whispers, then collapses into my arms.

"Jason!" I yell, bolting upright in my bed. No, not my bed... Jason's bed.

"Jason?" I whimper.

"We haven't found him yet," Oli sighs, his eyes looking dull and his skin looking pale.

"Wait... how long have I been out?" I ask.

"A month," Tatia replies.

"How did I sleep for a month?" I want to scream, but all that comes out is a whisper.

"I knocked you out. With my magic. I didn't mean to, I haven't used it since the 90's."

"You have magic?" I ask, thoroughly confused.

"I was a witch before I was a vampire." Is all the says.

I take the hint.

"We need to save Jason," I say.

"We've looked everywhere," Oli replies. "Everywhere my father would have gone, everywhere he has been."

"Maybe... we shouldn't look where your father would go. We should look for where Jason would go." I say, even though it makes no sense. "Sorry... that was stupid."

"No, it actually wasn't," Tatia says. "That's actually genius. But there is one problem. Where would Jason go?"

"I don't know. Jason can be really private. I know that there are days where he goes somewhere, but I have no idea where," Oli says, thinking out loud.

"A lake?" I ask.

"Why would you think that?" Oli questions.

"Just... a dream I had."

"You could be onto something," Oli says, drumming his fingers on his knee. "Sometimes he comes back wet, and smelling like a forest."

"Well," I grunt, pushing myself out of bed. "Where's the closest lake?"

"Isn't there one on the border of your lands?" Tatia asks, gliding over to me and helping me out of bed.

"Yeah, but why would he go there?" Oli asks, throwing his hands up in the air.

"For the quiet. I'd bet that no one from either pack would want to go there, our rivalry is decades, maybe even centuries old," I reply. "Are there any fresh clothes I can wear?" I ask once I realize that I'm only in my boxers.

"Look through Jason's clothes, I'm sure you can find something," Oli says offhandedly. "I'll have mom make lunch, then we can go. We'll need our energy." Tatia nods, and she and Oli leave.

I sigh, and then open Jason's closet.

"Medium, Medium, Medium, Medium, I'm not a fucking medium! God dammit you tiny, adorable, piece of shit!" I murmur as I browse through Jason's clothes. I'm close to giving up when I see a big, grey sweatshirt. Shrugging, I decide to pull it on. When I do, I see that it's a bit tight but it'll work. I start to head over to Jason's jean drawers but think better of it; If I can't fit in his shirts then there's no way I can fit in his jeans. I spy a neatly folded pile of what looks to be my clothes before pulling on my old joggers.

I look in the mirror, realizing that I look hungover as hell.

"Fuck this," I groan, heading out of Jason's room and into the kitchen, where I see stacks of burgers.

"This smells amazing, Julia," I smile.

"Call me mom, Jason is practically my son, which means that soon you'll practically be my son-in-law," she winks. "Now here, take this," she says, shoving a plate, fully loaded with a burger, fries, and even a mini salad.

"Thanks... mom."

"You're welcome," she smiles, while ruffling my hair. "Now shoo! Go eat and then get me my boy back!"

"Yes ma'am," I answer, while scarfing down my meal.

Once I'm done eating, I take a deep breath and look at Oli.

"Oli?" I ask.

"Yeah?" He grunts, seemingly uninterested but I know that he actually is when he looks at me.

"Are you okay with..." I pause, looking for the right word. "Me ending your dad?"

Oli looks me in the eyes, and I see how dark and dull they look. I wonder how long he's been waiting for me to ask that question.

"Please," is all he says.

"Please... what?"

"Please, kill him. Please, make sure it's painful. As painful as that bastard deserves," he says, and with each word that's pulled out of his mouth, the guy I know as Oli dissapears. But so do it. That asshole took the person both of our worlds revolve around, and he's got hell to pay.
