Abigail Quinn
It was dark and quiet, and yet the soft light shining from the window looked cozy and welcoming. Cafes at night are a strange sensation. A little bell rang as she stepped in. It fitted the picturesque place perfectly. The building was small, but the high windows made it seem somewhat bigger. Various plants were hanging in front of the brick walls, and some others were placed on the long wooden tables. The leather sofas looked pretty comfortable. She should definitely come here more often.
Abby didn't expect there to be anyone other than herself. She looked up in surprise when she saw the tall figure of a boy she hadn't seen before. His short, dark brown hair was messy, as if he had just rolled out of bed. She wondered what kept him from sleeping.
"Ladies first". The cheerful voice of the bartender interrupted Abigail's thoughts. How could anyone be this lively at this hour? She ordered a black coffee that was soon after placed on the counter before her.
The stranger eyed it. He looked exhausted, with prominent bags under his gunmetal blue eyes. "Sorry, but I really need that coffee." With a quick move, he snatched it from the counter, grabbed a dollar from his pocket and walked out, without saying another word.
" I guess he really did need that, right?" Once again, the jolly bartender brought her back to reality. Abigail nodded, and took a sip from the new cup of coffee he had given her. She thanked the man and stepped back on the street, thinking about the strange meeting from two minutes ago.
* Author's note *
This was quite a short chapter, but I hope you liked their first meeting :) There will be some more short ones, but I think they will get longer in a bit. Love you all!
Goodnight folks💛
