"So were you thinking about joining a club or a group or something?" Eleanor, the 19-year-old blonde asked Jenny, her best friend who was a year younger than her and had long, wavy brown hair that faded into turquoise at the bottom (because she'd dyed it that way), with a pair of black-framed glasses perched on her face. It was Jenny's first day at college.
"I don't know, I hadn't really given it much thought. You 2 have been here at the college longer than me, so what options are there?" She answered, as there was another girl standing with them. Her name was Sandra, and she, too, was Jenny's close friend, who'd moved to the U.K from America only a few years beforehand. At this point she was 20 years old.
"There are numerous things, but I don't think any of them are particularly up your street." Replied Sandra. "Except for one, though."
"Oh? What is it?"
"Well, you know how we're in a music group here?" Said Eleanor. "Called the Hetalians?"
"Yeah?"
"Well you've been raving about rock music a lot before, so I was perhaps thinking I could speak to our fellow members and see if Sandra and I can pull a few strings and get you into the group."
"Really? You will?" Her eyes widened in equal excitement and nervousness at the prospect.
"Of course! I have class with one of the founding members in an hour, and Eleanor does with another couple of founding members as well, so we'll see what we can do, and if luck is smiling down onto you, there's a good chance you'll get in." Sandra informed.
"Oh thanks you 2! You're the best!" She crushed both of them into a tight hug.
"Hey, come on, don't strangle us, Jen!" Eleanor told her with a chuckle at how tight it was.
"Sorry." Jenny loosened her grip. "Anyway, I've got to go, but I'll see you later! Let me know how it turns out!" And then hurried off to her next class, excitedly awaiting the results of Sandra and Eleanor 'pulling a few strings'.
"Pssst. Jen. Over here." Came the sound of Eleanor whispering from off to Jenny's left 2 hours later, and she found Eleanor stood behind one of the pillars of the building, as if she was trying to conceal herself.
"Ells? What's with this 'cloak-and-dagger' thing you're doing?" She asked her after walking over to her, as she did, indeed, look like a super spy.
"Ssssshh! It's because the workings of our group need to remain top secret. But anyway, come here." Eleanor beckoned for her friend to get closer, which she did, and she then whispered in her ear, "Sandra and I spoke to some of the members when we got the chance just now, and after a little bit of persuasion, they're willing to give your membership a trial run for a week and see how it goes from there."
"They are? Oh thank you!" Jenny exclaimed, kinda defying the top secret-y atmosphere Eleanor was trying to create. "When do I start?"
"They said you can move into the sorority house whenever you wish."
"Alright. Well let them know I'll be moving in tonight then!" Came her answer after a moment, still in happiness.
"I will. I'll head over to the house right away and tell them while you get your stuff. Trust me, they're all very nice people, you're bound to get along with them! I'll see you in a minute." Then Eleanor dashed off down the path and towards the sorority house while Jenny also ran off in a separate direction at top speed to get her things.
"Alright. Here we go..."
It was now getting into the evening, with the sky being painted in bright but faint hues of pink, orange and blue. It was very picturesque indeed. Right now, Jenny was stood on the doorstep of the Hetalians' sorority house, psyching herself up for going in. She only had her handbag and a small suitcase with her, as when she arrived at the college earlier that day, she liked to pack light in the first place. After preparing herself and mostly getting over the feeling of nervousness in the pit of her stomach, she rang the doorbell.
There was a few seconds' wait before there was a loud click as the front door opened from the inside, revealing a rather handsome tall and muscular blonde-haired man with blue eyes to be standing there (I'm sure you all know who this brilliant bloke is :D ). He was wearing blue jeans, black trainers and a black tank top.
"Oh, you must be the new member Sandra and Eleanor told us about who wishes to join us. Welcome." This man greeted, speaking with what Jenny recognised as a German accent.
