Trigger warning for death, abuse, psychos, and "curses"

Grandpa Hayden POV

I held my wife's hand as they told us the news. "You're having twins!" the nurse exclaimed before her face fell, "survival rate is low." "She's a fighter," I responded, holding Lily close to me, "she can do it." "But what if I can't?" Lily asked me. "But you can," I answered, kissing the top of her head, "Ben will have 2 little siblings, I promise."

~~~
   Lily was in critical condition. One of our little girls was about to come out, but in order for that to happen, she would die. Poor little Ben had no idea that only one girl would come home. "Name her Amelia," Lily said, and I looked her in the eyes. "What?" I responded, concerned with what she was trying to say. "You promised, but it wasn't true. I'm letting my little girl live," she explained, and tears filled my eyes. "Goodbye before it's too late, my love," she told me before pushing little Amelia out. "Goodbye," I whispered as she took her last breath. Why was life so cruel?
   I held my little Amelia in my hands, but all I could see as she whined was the pain in Lily's eyes as she pushed Amelia out. If there's someone to blame, it's Amelia. The doctors took her away, and I finally released my tears in the silent room Lily and my other little girl had died in moments earlier.
Amelia POV
   I never wanted to be at home. I hated my Father for beating me, and my brother for watching it happen. Father always said I looked like my Mom with my long blonde hair, beautiful pale skin, and intense electric blue eyes. That's why, at 15, I, Amelia Hayden, cut my hair and dyed it red.
   When I finished, I tried to sneak out of the house without anyone noticing. My attempt failed, and Father found me. "What did you do to your beautiful hair?" he asked, and I didn't answer. He struck me across the face, and I saw Ben standing in his bedroom doorway, watching in fear. Love you too brother.
Ben POV
   "I'm pregnant," Bri told me, and immediately pulled her closer to me, kissing her and her stomach. This was my chance to start a new life, free of the constant fear of Father and his looming threat that he would beat me too. "I promise, my little baby, I won't be anything like my father," I announced, staring at the stomach where my baby was. "Jaz," Bri said, "if it's a girl, of course. With one z, because she doesn't need two." "It's perfect," I replied, smiling to myself.
Amelia POV
Of course my damned brother moved away, got married, and knocked his girl up. I needed my sweet revenge. As I sat by the window in their new house, I saw a pregnant woman and her husband get in their car, and drive away. That's what sparked my perfect plan to get rid of my revenge and jealousy, starting with little Jaz's birth.
~~~

Of course the little baby was perfect, and reminded me of myself. Before I cut my hair, dyed it red, and covered my skin with tattoos, at least. My electric blue eyes still locked on Father's mind, and I had the change, I just needed to start my plan.
I was alone with Bri, holding the glass of water that wasn't water I got her. "Thank you so much!" she exclaimed, making me want to scream. But still I handed it to her, watching her drink a little. I left the room, waiting for the cardiac arrest the poison would take her into.

   I told the neighbor Rick it was a full moon, making him take a walk at beating time for Jaz. The court sent Ben to prison a week later. Justice for her and revenge for me, I guess.

Jaz POV

   "Please at least try to get your work done next time," the caretaker pleaded, making me groan. "But you won't be able to read it," I groaned, my bad handwriting a side effect of no proper schooling. "Please? I sure we can get a nice teacher to help you," she pleaded, and I started crying. "They'll be scared of my scars," I replied, and she sighed. "Teach yourself then," she suggested, and I ran to my room, eager to write in my little journal about her, possibly getting better at my handwriting.

~~~
   "You'll have a new roommate," the lady told me, and I pretended to smile. She left my quiet and secluded room, and I tried to figure out how to get rid of whoever this girl was. "What a shame. The poor thing must be traumatized! Her family murdered in front of her?" I heard someone say, and my brain developed my plan for "better handwriting," revolving around my new roommate.
Amelia "Anne" POV
   My first day with Beth was the day I saw a ghost. The second I saw Jaz, I saw 15-year-old me before I changed my hair. "Who is this?" I asked, my world going mute. And that was when my plan fell apart.
~~~

   It's boring in prison, and all I did was stare through the bars of my cell, "contemplating life," as the law calls it. "Miss Ericsson?" a voice said sharply, the man trying to remind me of my failed plan. "Yes?" I responded, and the man stepped in front of the bars. "Your Father was sent to prison for abuse of a minor. Was that you?" he asked. "Yes," I mumbled, looking away. The second he left, I smiled to myself, knowing that I got my justice, even if it wasn't what I expected.
