Chapter 17

Johnny's POV

I woke up really early in the morning to get the ring. I didn't want Kenzie to question me. After about an hour, I finally got to the jewelry store. I remember Kenzie was looking at engagment rings one day last week because she loves rings and there was one she loved. It was only $1,270 which is cheap for engagment rings but she really loved it so I'll buy an expensive wedding ring instead. It was from James Allen and luckily they had it in stock. I had Lauren text me Kenzie's ring size the night before so it would be perfect for her. Once I paid for the ring I hid it in the glove box of my car. 

It was still pretty early in the morning so I bought Kenzie Starbucks. When I got home she was still asleep so I hid the ring in my closet. I took the Starbucks coffee I got Kenzie and walked into her room. It was 7:55am by now and I know how she hates sleeping in so she sets an alarm for 8:00am because that's the latest she'll get up so I turned her alarm off and decided to wake her up. I gently placed my hand on her head and moved her hair out of her face. I kissed her cheek softly and she started to wake up. 

"Good morning beautiful." I whispered in her ear.

"Good morning handsome. What time is it?"

"7:59"

"Why are you up this early?"

"I wanted to get you some Starbucks."

"Aww thanks baby."

"And I turned your alarm off because I wanted to wake you up."

"I love you."

"I love you too."

We kissed and she got out of bed. She walked into the bathroom and started the shower. After about 10 minutes she came out and damn she looked hot. She was wearing a pair of short water color ringer shorts and a matching halter water color crop top. Her hair was in a half up half down ponytail with a couple pieces of hair out in the front. Her makeup was light and natural. 

"Damn babe you look amazing... as always."

"Aww thanks babe."

I handed her her coffee and we walked downstairs. Larson wasn't up yet so it was just us. 

"What do you want for breakfast?"

"Umm I don't know what do you want?"

"Pancakes?"

"Sure."

Kenzie started to make the pancakes while I sat at the island on my phone.

"I have a surprise for you babe."

"Ooh can I have it now?"

"No."

"Please." She started to whine and gave me puppy dog eyes.

"No. You have to wait for tonight and dress fancy because we are going on a date."

"Ugh fine." 

She turned back around and started to put the pancakes on the stove. I got up and walked over to her. I hugged her from behind wrapping my arms around her waist. 

"Trust me. You'll love it." I whispered in her ear. 

I kissed her on the cheek and walked back over to my seat. When the pancakes were ready we sat at the kitchen island and and ate our food while talking and laughing. Our house was pretty cold so I went upstairs to get a sweatshirt for Kenzie and I while she cleaned up. When I was upastairs I saw Larson.

"Hey Johnny"

"Hey, I'm going to need your help tonight."

"Okay with what?"

I told them my whole plan and they told me they would make sure everything was perfect for tonight. When we finished I walked into Kenzie's room and started looking for her sweatshirt. I couldn't find it so I went into my room and got a sweatshirt for me and a sweatshirt for her. I walked back downstairs to the kitchen.

"Here you go. I couldn't find yours so here's one of mine."

"Okay. I love wearing your clothes anyway."

I walked over to her and kissed her. We both put on our sweatshirts and walked into the living room. My sweatshirt was very big on her because she is very short. We sat on the couch and cuddled while watching TV. I can't wait for tonight.
