As we rode we talked and learned from the mages. While Nate caught up on his studies with Master Tyrían, who we learned to call the Earth mage, I learned to use my Saber with Master Peil. Who was the Wind mage and Tyrían's brother. They taught us about the twelve different magics: shield, healing, transport, et cetera. They also told us how prodigium are harnessed and that the power, or level, of the beast mattered. If your own harnessing level was too weak you couldn't harness that Prodigi
"So, I heard you were attacked by a Daemond?" Asked Master Tyrían. "Yes, he was," answered Nick for me. "And a big one to!" Master Pycil's face, unmoving. We had just dropped off the Water mage, who was known as Master Haller, in a town called Pik. Peil was still wondering if the water mage was going to make it. "How tall?" I looked at Pycil, he hadn't said a single word yet that night. "Twenty five feet, at best." I answered. "Your lucky, the small ones breath fire." He replied.
"So, Mick, what is your Family's device?" Asked Tyrían, to lighten the mood. "A Fenrik Fox, and my name is Nick, not Mick." A Fenrik Fox is as it sounds, a Fox, though it's fur is so red it looks like fire and the end of it's tail is just that.<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>
A week had past when we arrived at the Capital, we drove up the roads with Umabr and Tyrían's Lion clearing a wake of fear for them to pass. About five minutes after we enter the city we were confronted by a couple city guards. Each wore a red under shirt with plated Iron armor. Their silver helms glittering in the sun light.
"Where are you lot going?" Asked the guard on the left. "The House of Gelihos." Answered Master Peil. "Better hurry then if you want to make it to the testing ceremony." Said the other guard. "Testing ceremony? Aren't the people there already tested?" Asked Nick. "Yes, most are, but then there are the others, like you two." Answered Master Tyrían.
We rode on through the city for about thirty more minutes until we arrived at The House of Gelihos, where, I learned, was the learning place of the Mages.<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>
The House of Gelihos was as big as the palace, with great Mahogany Doors embedded with an intricate golden Oak Tree. When we entered the entrance hall, we were greeted by servants who took our things and escorted us to the Great Hall.
The Great Hall was enormous, being roughly the size of a temple from celling to floor and just as wide. On one side of the room sat what seemed to be second years, seated at long tables. Each wore the same blue robes that Master Tyrían and Peil wore. On the other side sat fewer, younger students who wore purple robes and leather jerkins, who I assumed where the already-tested first years, fore the rest of the the group stood on the podium ready to be tested. Nick and I where told to go to the podium and wait our turns.
