Its been a month since the discovery of Jason Blossom's body. But his death is not the first nor would it be the last casualty that the town of riverdale would suffer. People say Riverdale changed the day Jason's body was found but it was actually the night of the masquerade ball at riverdale high that everything changed.

It was the night of the dance. Violet stared at her reflection, thinking even with all the makeup she had on, she still looked ugly. She had a dark blue lace dress on that had one of those long backs and was kind of shorter in the middle. She brushed her dark locks out of her face and got up. It was 9 already, Sweet Pea should be here she thought. She got on her heels and went down the stairs to wait for her boyfriend. When she got downstairs her mother, Jenna, exclaimed "Violet you look so beautiful!" Violet just smiled. She didn't feel beautiful. Then Sweet Pea walked in a black tux and stood there in aw.  "Violet..." he said. "You look stunning." Before Violet could respond her mother said excitedly "Pictures!!!!!" and Violet and Sweet Pea smiled for a few pictures before they left. When they got outside Violet saw Sweet Pea's jeep and was almost brought to tears. On the side of his car was a timeline of their relationship and at the end it said August 10th Masquerade Ball. Violet looked up at Sweet Pea and hugged him. "Do you like it" he asked. "Oh my gosh babe. I love it." The couple got into the car, put their matching white masks on and Violet saw that it was filled with glowing fairy lights. She looked at him and smiled.

Lexi was running late for the dance. Well not late but she liked to get to things early. She had on a red silk dress that went below her feet. She slid on her heels and turned around only to see her boyfriend Reggie looking at his phone. Lexi cleared her throat and Reggie looked up and looked stunned. "Damn Lexi. I've never really seen you in anything other than sweats and black leggings." Lexi punched his arm and Reggie said "Ouch crap let me rephrase that. You look amazing. You really do." Lexi smiled and kissed him. "We have to go. All the good foods gonna be gone if we get there any later." Lexi said as Reggie chuckled "Okay okay babe calm down the limos outside."

When Lexi and Reggie arrived at the dance Lexi had a black mask on the a red rose on the corner of it. Reggie had a red mask on to match with his red tie. They walked down the stairs into room where the dance was being taken. It was a huge room with stairs that went up into a couple of balconies. Reggie asked Lexi if she wanted some punch and she said yes. After she lost sight of Reggie in the crowd she felt anxious. She felt like something was wrong but she didn't know why. Then, she got a phone call from an unknown number. "Hello?" she asked. "Nice choice of color." Someone said in a deep raspy voice, almost like a voice filter or something. "What? Who is this" She replied. "The color of you dress. Its a nice color for tonight." Lexi immediately hung up and brushed it off. This was going to be a fun night, a stupid prank caller was not going to ruin her night.

Violet and Sweet Pea stepped out of the car, exactly 27 minutes late and walked in. Everyone stared at them as they walked down the stairs. Violet felt like Cinderella. Lexi looked at Violet, but instead of glaring she just looked, she didn't know how to feel about Violet now. What had ever caused them to dislike each other so much? Lexi got another call from an unknown number. "Hello? Whoever this is stop calling me. I'm hanging up." Lexi said and almost took her phone off her ear but was startled and horrified by what the voice said on the other end. "I'll gut you and you new little cousin if you hang up you bitch." Lexi stood there, terrified. "Fuck you. I'm hanging up. "You bitch if you hang u-" Lexi looked around. Everyone had masks. Everyone has their phones. She was spiraling around the room until Reggie, without his mask grabbed her shoulder "Are you okay babe?" he asked as Lexi turned around, relieved to see a familiar face. "I-I'm fine. Just a stupid prank call." "Okay. Well lets go dance." He replied as they walked into the middle of the dance floor.

Sweet Pea and Violet had just gotten some chocolate strawberries and punch and set them down at their table when a bunch of Sweet Pea's friends came over and begged him to come with them. Violet said it was okay. When Violet was on her last strawberry she got a phone call. She assumed it was just one of those scams that try to get you to buy their stuff so she ignored it. An unknown number called again. She ignored it again. She was kind of spooked but decided to forget about it. One of her best friends, Sidney came over. "Why are you sitting here all alone? Where's Sweet Pea?" she asked. "I'm actually not sure where he went. " Violet replied with a confused look. "Well i'll keep you company till he gets back. Wanna dance?" Sidney asked. "Sure why not." Violet said and got out of her seat and followed her friend onto the dance floor.

About 30 minutes go by Sidney and Violet are still dancing but Sweet Pea is nowhere to be seen. He better be back by the next slow dance or I'm gonna be pissed. Violet thought to herself. "I gotta go to the bathroom. I'll be right back." Sidney said. "K Sid. Don't be gone too long." Violet replied while laughing.

As Sidney walked into the bathroom and closed the stall she had a weird vibe. But she was sort of drunk so she brushed it off. When she was done doing her business and was washing her hands she kept looking on the ground because she could've sworn she saw someone in a stall behind her.

Violet was dancing when Sweet Pea came up behind her and started dancing. Even though she was dying to ask him what took so long she decided not to because she didn't want to ruin the mood. They were dancing for a while until Lexi pulled her aside. Violet was confused because Lexi and her barely talk. "Look, I know we are supposed to hate each other and all but I think something is going on." Lexi said. "Wait what happened?" Violet asked in a concerned tone. "Someone called me and they were threatening me, threatening us." she replied. "Wait. Was it an unknown number?" "Yes how did you know? Did they call you too? What did they say? Lexi asked. Violet took off her mask and said "I didn't answer."

The lights went out.

When the lights turned back on everyone was screaming.

On the wall behind the stage

Was Sidney Smith's body

Hung with knifes

Blood spread out behind her with the words "Shouldn't have" written in blood.

The lights went out again.
