Cerise's P.O.V.

Birds were chirping. Light was beaming. It was morning. It's the start of a new day. Something tells me that it's going to be a long one. The smell of bacon woke me up. I just love bacon. It's so yummy and tasty...My mouth is watering just by thinking about bacon.

"Come get some before they are gone!", exclaimed Ramona.
"Not on my watch!", I yelled back as I was rushing towards the table.
"Now now there. Behave", Mom said as Ramona and I were competing to see which one of us gets the last bite.
The last piece of bacon was left on the plate. Ramona and I gave each other that look. As we were reaching towards the last piece, Mom cuts in and takes it.
"Oh so y'all didn't think I was eyeing it too", Mom giggled.

The both of us finally finished getting ready for school just in time to head out the door. As usual, we sprinted together and went our separate ways. This time is different. Hunter and Ashlynn broke up. They didn't meet at the enchanted forest anymore like they used to. All because I interfered...or is it?

Finally, I've reached the school's front doors. Luckily, I spotted Raven right by her locker. Thank god I found her. If it weren't for her being right there, all the attention would only be on me. Of course it would-I mean-it's only natural...right?! After that whole break up incident, all eyes have been on us.

"Hey, what's up?", asked Raven.
"Nothing much...well I'm kind of nervous...", I replied in a quiet tone.
"That's obvious. People have been talking about that whole break up drama all over school", she brought up.
"I just want this whole thing to die down...", I mumbled.
"I know right. I'm getting tired of hearing all these arguments about which side was right or wrong. Along with the whole Royals dating Rebels debate", Raven sighed
"People really do have a lot of time on their hands, don't they", I said. All the attention is overwhelming. I hate it. It's embarrassing.

As we were talking, I felt someone poke my shoulder. Who must that be? I checked behind me to see who it was.

"Hunter?!"
"I'll let you two have your fun, see you later Cerise!", Raven said as she walked away from us.
"What are you doing here?", I asked.
"I saw you, so I just wanted to say Hi", he replied, "also! I wanted to see if you are busy later this afternoon".

I could feel the tension of peoples' stare. My heart was beating faster by the second. I can't handle the pressure. It was too much for me. We can't just talk in the open like this. The public still talks about the break up.

"Hunter...w-we need to talk somewhere private", I whispered.
"Uh sure. That's fine"

We walked towards an emptier hallway. The stares were no longer there which was a relief.

"What did you want to talk about?", he asked.

I took a deep breath. I need to clear my mind before making my decision. I still feel guilty over the whole Ashlynn thing. It's consuming me. Just thinking about that whole "I'm in love with you" thing makes me feel even worse. Sure I felt so happy in the moment that even I said I'm in love with him, but it's not the right time. Not now. Not when everyone is angry and mad and upset. Not when someone is heartbroken. This is going way too fast for me and for the public.

The silence was becoming suspenseful.

"Hunter...we can't see each other. Not now", I lamented.

Hunter's P.O.V.

In that moment, it was as if time has stopped. Hearing those words come out of her mouth instantly made me feel like I was being chewed up by a wild animal. My heart sank. So many thoughts roamed in my head. Question after the other.

"W-What?...But what about that day we spent together...the day we confessed to each other", I mumbled. I can't believe this is happening right now. It's so unexpected for her to say that.
"I'm sorry...I have to go", she said as she ran off. She ran as fast as the wind and into the shadows of the school.
"Cerise! Wait! Please!", I pleaded.

I tried my best chasing after her, but there wasn't a sign of her anywhere. I checked the corridors around me. I don't care if people are looking. This is too important to me. The most prominent question in my head was: why?
