"You're- you're in love with me?" Tillie questioned and Tyla's face dropped. Goddamnit. She knew it was stupid to say that. She knew that Tillie didn't feel the same way. Why was she so stupid?

"I- I'm sorry... I shouldn't of said that. I- I can leave if you want." Tyla made a move to get of the bed, but Tillie just pinned her to it.

"Tyla, I'm crazy in love with you too," Tillie confirmed and Tyla almost broke down crying right then and there. But instead she pushed her head up to capture Tillie's lips in hers. She didn't feel the explosions in her stomach or electricity running through her veins, it was much calmer. It was peaceful. It was Tyla finally feeling happy and complete. Like she found what was missing her whole life.

All the bad things melted away. She forgot about her job, Jordan, the kids at school. She couldn't think about that stuff, not when Tillie was on top of her kissing her like never before.

They pulled away for air and intertwined their finger, intertwined their souls.

"Don't doubt it, babe," Tillie smiled and pecked Tyla's cheek.

"Can I take you on a date?" Tyla asked, gaining her confidence back.

"Of course," Tillie grinned, "where'd we go?"

"It's a secret," Tyla teased and Tillie rolled her eyes. She sat up more so she was straddling Tyla's hips.

"Is that your excuse for not knowing?" Tillie questioned, placing her hands on her own hips.

"It might be..." Tyla trailed off, smirking up at Tillie.

"Well, you'll have plenty of time to think about it while we do the homework I got from your teachers!" Tillie said and got off her. Tyla groaned and rolled over so she could slam her head into a pillow.

"Come on, I'm going to help you pull your grades up. Maybe get you into some more advanced classes, and into a good college and you can do whatever you want. What's your dream job?" Tillie asked, setting their backpacks on the bed. Tyla's next to Tyla's head.

"I've always wanted to be a criminal investigator but that's stupid because it's too late and I don't have time for those classes. And I definitely can't afford college," Tyla argued, sitting up and throwing the pillow at Tillie's head.

"Not with that attitude you can't. Come on, I'll help you. Please?" Tillie asked and fuck was Tyla in trouble.

"Okay, fine. I'll try," Tyla gave in and Tillie grinned and bounced on the bed.

"Ok, let's start with health because we have that together," Tillie decided, pulling out her binder. Tyla copied her. It wasn't like this was going to be hard. She just didn't know where she would find the time for all this. Or the money.

Tyla ended up completing all her homework, which she never had time to do before. She interrupted their studying every once and a while to say that she didn't have any money and she had to go to work. That they didn't have any money for dinner or breakfast or lunch. But Tillie just assured her that she would take care of the food issue.

"See, you have time. It's 4 now, that only took two hours, now you have at least two hours to work before dinner. Then you can go back out if you need to," Tillie said and Tyla narrowed her eyes at Tillie. She couldn't be telling her to go out and sell herself, could she?

"Are you giving me permission to go out to that street?" Tyla asked warily and Tillie laughed.

"I don't like it, but unless you have any other job ideas for a high school student that has to pay for rent and a family of three..." Tillie made her point and Tyla just shrugged. Not daring to say anything more and tempt Tillie to change her mind and ban her from that street corner. "What's that look for?"

Tyla was staring at Tillie, smiling softly. She was wondering how she could have such a wonderful person in her life, offering to do so much for her to give Tyla a better life. It was unbelievable. "Thank you Tillie. You don't understand what this means to me."

"Yeah. Well, if we get married in the future, I'd like my wife to have a job and not be breaking the law on a daily basis," Tillie teased and Tyla laughed.

"Yeah, yeah, very funny. Maybe I'll just have to find me another wife that loves me," Tyla faked a dramatic tone making them laugh before Tillie forced a fake frown.

"Shame. I didn't even get my surprise date."

"Girls! Dinner's ready!" Mrs. Newton yelled through the door making the girls shoot away from each other.

"Come on," Tillie grabbed Tyla's hand and Tyla grabbed her wrist to get her to hold on.

"When you told be you weren't straight - and I still don't know your sexuality by the way - you said not to tell your parents. Are you not out?" Tyla asked and Tillie looked down.

"I'm bi. And I'm not out to my parents, I don't know if I ever will. They are kind of huge homophobes and if that's a problem, I totally understand," Tillie rushed to say.

"It's not a problem. I just wanted to make sure. I didn't want to say or do anything that might out you, and you don't have to say anything. I'm okay with telling anyone you're comfortable with. Even if that's no one. I'm openly pan, so I don't care who finds out," Tyla reassured Tillie dropping her other hand so they were just holding hands.

Tillie looked up and Tyla and smiled nervously. "Maybe after our first date we can decide who to tell, for now, let's eat. I'm starving," Tillie pulled Tyla down the stairs and just like that they were back into their normal giggles when they're around each other. Maybe that's one thing that should have been a huge hint to Tyla that Tillie liked her too.
