Ross's POV
My breathe catches in my throat. This is my baby sister. This is Jess, my sister that was taken so long ago, that was beaten more than me. It seems her life has gotten even worse. I see Sky looking at me from the corner of my eye, but he looks blurry. Only then do I realize that my eyes had started to water. "Y-you're Je-Jess?", I stutter. She looks at me with a confused face. "Um, yeah. That is what I said, is it not?", she says back. I can feel tears of happiness streaming down my face. I stand up and walk around the table quickly, all eyes were on me. When I get to Jess on the other side of the table, I give her a big hug. She stiffens as soon as I hug her. "Uh, what are you doing?", she asks, obviously uncomfortable. "I-I'm Ross! Yo-You're brother! Don't you remember me?", I manage to get out through my tears. "Y-you're my brother? I have a brother? Wait! How do I know that you are really my brother and not just saying that? For all I know, you could be faking it.", she say, getting quiet and looking down. She almost seemed.... heart broken. But, she doesn't remember me. How could she not remember me?! "S-so you don't re-remember me?", I ask, through more tears. But this time, they aren't tears of joy. My beloved little sister doesn't remember me. "Im sorry. I feel like I should, but I don't. I guess I should feel like I should remember you though, if you are my brother.", Jess says, still looking down. I could hear the sadness in her voice. I feel someone bringing me into a hug. I look up to see its Adam. He knows how much I missed my sister, and he has always been like a brother to me. He is my closest friend. I hug him back and cry. I suddenly feel someone else hugging me from behind, I look back to see Jess hugging me briefly. She lets go, and so does Adam. Jess takes my hand and starts pulling me to a corner of the room. "Come here. I think we should talk.", is all she says. I follow her and look back. Adam is sitting down, Shelby has fallen asleep on Max's shoulder, Max is blushing while eating, Red is talking to Barney, and Barney is eating while listening to Red. I look ahead again and keep walking. When we make it to the corner of the room, Jess sighs and looks up at me. "Listen Ross, I need you to promise me something", she says, looking me in the eyes. "Sure", I say, sniffling and wiping my tears off of my tear stained face with my sleeve. I look her in the eyes too. "Promise me that you aren't lying. Promise me that you really are my brother. I need you to promise Ross!", Jess says, I can see tears forming in her eyes. I nod my head and say softly," I promise Jess. I promise that I'm not lying, that I am your brother.". She suddenly hugs me tightly. Once I get over my shock, I hug her back. We hugged each other tightly for what seemed like a long time, and I could feel Jess' s tears wetting my shirt. I'm sure she could feel my tears in her hair too.
Adam's POV
I go back and sit down. When I see Max and Shelby, I couldn't help but smirk. Shelby was softly snoring and Max's face looks like a tomato. I look over to the corner where Ross and Jess are. Ross is crying and Jess looks very sad, they are talking about something. Suddenly, they hug. Ross' chin is rested on her head and Jess' face was buried in Ross' shoulder. I could tell they were both crying. I can feel myself smiling at the scene before me. I'm really happy for him, I know how much he missed and really loved his little sister. Suddenly, a woman walks in. She has long blonde hair, bright blue eyes and is quite pale. "Subject one! Come and take this!", the woman yells, holding a letter. I look back over to see Jess look up, wipe her tears, and walk over to the woman. While they are talking, Ross walks over and sits next to me again. He has the biggest smile on his face, even though there were still some tears on his face and in his eyes. I give him a small smile and say, "I'm happy for you Ross". He looks over at me, with his giant smile he says", Thanks Adam! I cant believe it! I actually found my sister! She has grown up quite a bit, and I cant believe that she had to grow up basically as a lab rat. And she seems like such a rebel now! Can you believe it?". I mess up his hair before saying, " Yep, quite a sister you got there.". Suddenly, Jess comes over to us, looking awfully excited. "That was just Serena, she delivers the mail and news and all that to everyone. Apparently, I get a week off to get to know you guys and to help settle you in. No more shock tests or training! YES!", she basically yells. I chuckle a bit because of her outbursts. Ross speaks up and asks, "What type of training?". Jess answers, having and emotionless look and a sad look in her eyes," Oh, uhm... Well, I get trained to... Kill...". She looks down at her lap. I stare, unblinkingly, in complete shock. "W-what?!", Ross asks, almost desperately. Jess looks up, her face like stone," I'm trained to kill. To murder Ross. To stimulate my brain and see what data they get. If you havn't noticed, I'm just a lab rat, Ross. I'm nothing more to them than an experiment. "
