I won't go back

Hit the road

Ten days. It's been ten days since I've seen him and not once has he left my mind. Every minute I can't help but think of him. I'm back in Magnolia and I've already gotten yelled at by Jellal, glared at by Erik and Macbeth, and the dreaded head shake from Sorano. It was terrible.

"Meldy," Says Sawyer bitterly.

I turn my head to see everyone hovering over me.

"What?" I ask.

"The council is coming after us, we gotta move," Says Jellal.

I shoot to my feet by and we get moving. We don't bother with saying goodbye to Fairy Tail. I'm sure they'd understand anyway.

We travel for three days till we're at the Blue Pegasus guild. After asking the Master we've decided that it'd be best if we hung out there for a while. I mean, it's the last place anyone would look for us. The only thing I could do without is the constant flirting from the Trimen. I can get my own food myself, thank you very much.

"Meldy, would you like some water?" Asks a dreaded voice.

I sigh and turn around to see Eve close behind me.

I fold my arms, "No, and if I did I would be able to get it myself. But thank you for asking."

I really didn't mean to sound so rude, but I can't help it. These Trimen are getting on my last nerve.

He turns away from me with a hurt expression on his face, "Ok then. But you should know that I really do have your best interests at heart."

Aw, now I feel bad.

"Hey Eve," I say calmly.

Eve turns back towards me, "Yeah?"

"Sorry if I offended you, I'm just a little on edge." I say.

"It's no problem. You're just a little stressed, it's fine."

His words are sincere, but his face says he's still hurt.

"Alright, if you say so," I say unsurly.

He nods and walks away.

Great, no he hates me. I wish I could just run away again, but it's too risky with the council after us. Besides, where would I go? I can't go back to Fairy Tail, the council's probably searching for us there.

I walk over to a wall and sit against it. Never in my life have I felt this conflicted. Actually, that's not true, when Ultear and I broke Jellal out of prison, I felt much more conflicted. What am I gonna do.

"Meldy," Says a familiar voice.

I look up to see Sorano looming over me.

"Yes." I say casually.

"We have to go, the council's on their way here."

Knew it. I knew we wouldn't stay here long.

"Alright," I say as I stand up, "Let's go."

We say our goodbyes to Blue Pegasus and hit the road once again.

This time we don't stay in one spot, we keep moving. It's much too risky to do so. If we do, we run the risk of getting caught.

We're on our way back towards Magnolia when a familiar face pops up.

"Lyon? What are you doing here?" I ask.

"You guys need to get out of here." He says frantically.

"Why?" Asks Sawyer sarcastically.

"I swear, if you don't get out now they'll catch you!" He says.

"Who?" I ask.

"The council!"

We all go silent. No of us know what to say. The council? Why?

"What are you still doing here? Go!" He orders.

But before any of us have the chance to respond, the a bunch of Rune Knights pop up and surrounds us.

We try to escape, but their magic is too strong for us. Even the former Oracion Seis members can't fight back. We're trapped.

"Well done Vastia." Says a voice of an elder man.

I turn around to see a council member standing behind him.

"Thank you..." Says Lyon flatly.

"Wait what? Lyon what's going on?" I ask angrily.

"Remember the job I told you about? Apparently this is it." He explains

I growl, "So you lied to me? How could you?"

"I-I didn't. I wouldn't. I-I don't know what to say." He says in a defeated tone.

I turn away from him as tears start to form in my eyes.

"You're coming with us," Says a Rune Knight.

They lunge for us and they get everyone but me and Erik.

"Get out of here Erik!" Shouts Sorano.

"Meldy go!" Shouts Jellal.

Erik grabs my wrist and we run. We're almost stopped by the Rune Knights, but Erik pulls me away before I can get caught.

Soon we're away from them and I'm out if breath.

I look at Erik who has tears streaming down his face.

"Erik? A-are you-"

"They took her! They took Sorano!" He spits angrily.

"I'm sorry if this is insensitive, but I thought that you two hated each other's guts?"

He swipes the tears from his eye and sighs, "She was a good friend back in the Tower of Heaven. We were in it together, and to be honest, at some point, I might've liked her."

You need a hug. I know how hard it is to lose someone you love, but you can't go around moping like this.

"You're right. About me moping around, not me needing a hug." He says quietly.

As we continue to walk, we occasionally stop to hide from the passing Knights before continuing to walk.

"Hold up," Says Erik as he blocks me with his arm, "Their here."

I get into the offensive position as I wait for them. When I hear the sound of footprints, I get ready to attack, but Erik puts a hand on my wrist.

"Don't, you need to get your little ass out of here."

My ass isn't little! Is it?

"Yes it is, but that's not the point." He says coldly

Jerk.

"Alright," I say, "But be careful."

Erik shakes his head, "Sorry, but I'm planning on getting caught. I have to be with Sora."

I nod, "Oh, ok. I understand."

With that, I take off away from Erik.

Ahhh! This fanfic has taken up so much of my time I swear! But I'm almost done so if y'all can just hang on for just one more chapter. How bout that lil Erik x Sorano moment tho. Total fire right? And if ya liked it comment, vote, and follow and I'll see you in the next chapter.
