The End

I'm all out of breath but I can't stop. They're still after me, so I push forward.

“Meldy wait!” Calls a familiar voice.

I look back to see Lyon running behind me. I turn my head forward so I don't see him.

“Meldy please, I'm sorry.” He calls.

I shake my head, “No you're not! You lied to me. Because of you, my friends are caught.”

“Please believe me when I say I'm sorry.” He says.

I stop running and turn to face him only to find Sherry standing next to him a little out of breath.

“Meldy,” Starts Sherry, “We didn't know. The job request just said we were capturing criminals, it didn't say anything about Crime Sorciere.”

I sigh, “Fine, I choose to believe you.”

They exchange looks before turning back to me. I don't have to be Erik to know what they're “saying.” They're trying to decide on whether or not they should turn me in.

“I'm not going. I didn't even do anything!” I say angrily.

“Well,” Starts Sherry, “You did break Jellal out of prison.”

I scoff, “That was Ultear, not me! I was the help!”

“That's still a crime.” Says Lyon as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

“I'm not going.” I say firmly, “And that's that.”

“I really don't want to do this but I have to.” Mumbles Lyon.

I shake my head and back away from them, “No! No! I'm not going with you!”

I continue to back away until I trip and Lyon grabs my waist to try to keep me from falling, but instead, we both end up tumbling to the ground.

I try to push him off me, but he pins my wrists to the ground.

“Good job Lyon,” Says a voice, “Now hurry up and take her in.

I knew they would come for me, I expected them to, but I didn't expect to be in this position. I'm all too aware of his shape. The angle of his hips, the muscles in his arms, they're all pressed against my much smaller frame. His well sculpted face is a mere inch away from mine, one wrong move and Lyon's lips will be on mine. His eyes are like knives digging into my heart and tearing it apart bit by bit. This isn't the same look he gave me when we first met, those eyes were full of shock and awe, these are full of sadness and fear.

I try to ignore it. I try to ignore the fact that Lyon's chest is heaving against mine, and how his fingers are digging into my shoulders. But I can't, it's all too much for me. I can't ignore it when I know there are council members and Rune Knights standing behind us, and that they probably have my entire guild in chains by now. It probably isn't that bad for Erik, I mean he did want to be with Sora. But I can't ignore it when I know that one wrong move will be the end of me, and Lyon. What do I do? What do I do?

"I'm sorry," Breathes Lyon softly. His fingers grip my shoulders tighter, "I'm sorry I couldn't protect you. And I'm sorry I tried to force you to come with me just so I could get three million jewel."

Tears form in my eyes, "There's nothing to be sorry about, Lyon."

What are these feelings I feel towards him? What's happening? It's like how I felt during my battle with Juvia, so many emotions. How do I control them all? These tears... why can't I stop them from flowing?

"Damn it, now you're crying." Curses Lyon as tears drip from his eyes.

I flash him a weak smile, "I'm crying? What about you Mr. Cool? You're crying as well."

He smiles and laughs, "Guess you got me there."

"I'm scared Lyon, I-I don't know what to do."
He smiles, “Don't worry Meldy, it'll all work out, I'll make sure of it.”

"Hurry it up Vastia!" Shouts a cold voice of a council member.

He gets off me and sighs, "I guess this is goodbye then."

I wrap my arms around him and pull him into a hug, "Goodbye."

No! It can't end like this. I don't want it to! I don't wanna say goodbye, I LOVE HIM!
"I love you Meldy." Whispers Lyon.

Tears roll down my cheeks, "I love you too Lyon."

We pull apart and Lyon helps me to my feet. He then hands me over to the council. I steal a glance over at Sherry who's biting down on her lower lip. Her makeup is running down her face, but I don't mind. I think it's nice. We barely know each other, and yet she's crying.

So this is it. I get hauled off to prison for something I didn't even do, and Lyon and Sherry have to watch. It's not right, Lyon and Sherry are my friends, and my guild-mates shouldn't be in jail. We're trying to atone for our sins, and the Council is keeping us from it.

Jellal...

Sorano...

Macbeth...

Erik...

Richard...

And even stupid Sawyer...

We all deserve a second chance. It's not our fault we've committed sins, it's not our fault we were used. We were just pawns in plans to do evil. We lost the ones we loved because of it. Isn't that punishment enough? Haven't we suffered long enough?

"Anything you'd like to say before you go?" Asks a Council member bitterly.

I turn to Lyon and Sherry who have tears in their eyes.

"Wait for me Lyon." I say softly.

More tears threaten to fall, but I hold them back. Lyon on the other hand, has tears flowing like waterfalls.

"Don't worry pinky, I promise I'll wait. And when you get back, I'll take you on that date I promised you."

I smile nod nod, “I'd like that.”

"Bye Meldy." Says Sherry sadly.

Tears finally break free and flow freely. I hate him seeing me cry, it makes me look like a little girl, but I know he secretly loves it, and so do I.

I'm hauled into the carriage which will take me to my new "home" for the next 3-5 years. I'll miss them.

Goodbye... Lyon.
