“Once, when I was in school, there was a dance and we had to ask a girl that we knew to go to the dance with us. Well, me being the shy thirteen year old that I was, I decided I wasn't going to go to the dance. Instead I stayed in my dorm and read in the bathtub,” he started out the game.

“Why the bathtub?” I asked, giggling.

“I thought if I was in there no one would find me,” he said, also laughing now. “Okay, you go.”

“I once snuck into a club, where my aunt Millie also happened to be that night, so I got caught, was grounded, and spent a week trying to convince my dad that I went into the wrong building by mistake.”

He looked at me incredulously, but dutifully took his turn nonetheless. “My brother and I thought we could make a pizza from scratch. Let me just say that I was eight and he was ten, and that my mother and father thought it was best that we never be allowed in the kitchen again.”

Wow. That one surprised me. “How are you such a good chef if you weren't allowed in your kitchen?” I asked with a slight smile on my face.

“Honey. Please. My uncle doesn't agree with that rule; in fact he encourages I spend as much time there as possible,” Alessio answered, with another of his cheeky yet mischievous grins.

“Hmm. Okay. My turn. I lost my virginity to a guy I never saw after the night it happened.” Maybe a little to personal, but hey, if anybody had had an embarrassing go of life, it was definitely me.

And I was going to win the Jelly Babies, especially after I learned what they were. Alessio showed them to me and they're basically like Sour Patch Kids, just these didn't have sour dust on them. So of course I was going to share embarrassing facts about myself till the cows come home.

“Okay, you win. Here are your Jelly Babies. And you don't even have to share,” he said with only a hint of resignation in his voice. “It sounds like there's a story attached to that confession, Jess,” Alessio continued.

“Fine. And I'll share the Jelly Babies since you seem upset to have lost a whole bag.

“So it was during sophomore year and I was at a party. At the house of the guy I had a crush on at the time. He was a senior. And he invited a bunch of his college friends to this party. I think because the girl he liked was in college and he wanted to impress her or something. Anyways, I was completely trashed probably about midway through the night. So I went into one of the house's eight bedrooms with one of the college guys at the party and damn was he good in bed! Honestly I've never slept with anyone quite as good as he was. But I woke up the next morning alone in a bedroom in my crush's house with a monster hangover and I never saw that guy again. Joel, I think his name was." I said without even a hint of embarrassment. Then I turned to him and said, "So yeah, that's the story. How about you? When did you lose your V-card?”

Alessio looked me dead in the eye with what looked like a triumphant grin and said, “I'm still a virgin, thank you.” And popped a Jelly Baby into his mouth.
