My mother cracked her neck and looked me dead in the eyes. "Allison, If you don't have anything nice to say to me then go away." I curled my hands into fists and walked away, shutting my bedroom door behind me. I leaned back against the door and slowly slid down it until I was sitting on the floor. I felt the tears streaming down my face as she started to yell at me from the other room. "You're such stupid, selfish, egotistical little bitch!! You don't give a shit about anyone else's feelings except your own..." She continued on like this for about 5 minutes. I just rested my head on my knees and continued to cry silently until I heard my phone going off on the other side of my room. I stood up slowly, my legs shaking uncontrollably, and locked the door before walking over to my phone to see who was texting me.
Crysta: Alli, Are you ok? Your brother texted me and said your mom was going off at you again.
Alli: I'm fine Crysta, I'm used to this.
I sent her the text, knowing I was lying to my best friend. I set my phone down and layed back on my bed. A few minutes later, my phone went off again. This time it was my boyfriend.
Sam: Alli!! What's going on? Crysta texted me and said that your mum went off at you again.
Alli: Yeah, she did. I don't know how much longer I'm gonna be able to take it.
Sam: What did she say this time?
Alli: She called me a stupid, selfish, egotistical little bitch. I'm starting to wonder if she's right.
Sam: Alli, You know she's not. You're one of the strongest, smartest, most beuatiful girls I've ever met.
Alli: I'm sorry Sam, but I can't keep going like this, knowing that everything falling apart is my fault, knowing that I'm the reason that my family is being torn apart.
Sam: Alli Stop! You are NOT the reason your family is being torn part, your mother is! She refuses to see the good in our relationship, she sets you up to get yourself in trouble, and she's just an overall ass!! Please don't blame yourself for this.
Alli: ...Thank you Sam. I really, truly do appreciate it. But, honestly, you'd all be better off without me. I'm sorry.
Sam: NO!!...
I didn't read the rest of the text. I set my phone down and turned on the lamp on my nightstand.I grabbed the small knife from the other side of it and placed it next to me on the bed. I picked up my phone, which was buzzing incessantly, and opened up my group chat with Sam and Crysta, Ignoring the hundreds of messages they had already sent me.
I'm sorry you guys, I really am. I know you've both done your best to help me but at this point I am beyond help. There's nothing you can do. You're my best friends and I Love You. And I'm really sorry that I have to make you so sad. But my mother was right. I'm a stupid, selfish, egotistical little bitch and a waste of space. There isn't anything left for me here. Trust me when I say you'll both be better off without me.
Goodbye.
I set my phone back on my nightstand and picked up the knife, placing the tip of it against my neck. I took a deep breath, ignoring the incessant ringing of my phone. "I'm sorry" I whispered to the empty room. I felt fresh tears streaming down my face as I plunged the knife into my neck, driving it straight into my jugular vein. I felt the blood pouring down my neck and staining the front of my shirt as I slumped over and everything faded to black.
Crysta POV
Sam and I burst through Alli's door, much to the protest of her mother, to find her lifeless body slumped over on her bed with a knife sticking out of her neck, her long pink hair covering her bare, pale face. Sam pushed past me and ran to her, sitting on the edge of the bed and holding her, completely ignoring the puddle of blood around them. He gingerly pulled the knife out of her neck and threw it across the room, tears streaming down his face as he stared down at the blank expression in her eyes.
Alli's mother tried to come in but I spun around and barred her. "No" I said. She tried to protest but I stood my ground. "You are the reason this happened. She texted both of us and said that you called her a stupid, selfish, egotistical little bitch. She couldn't handle being miserable because you refuse to see the good in what she does. All you've ever done is criticize every little thing she did and look what happened" I gestured at the bed behind me. "Now, I suggest you get away from me before I punch a hole in your face" She backed off and walked away. I walked over to Sam and helped him lay Alli onto a makeshift stretcher. I let him clean her up while I started scrubbing the blood out of her sheets. We were still cleaning 20 minutes later when the police showed up and arrested Alli's mom for abuse. 2 officers came in and helped us move Alli out of the room. They loaded her into the back of an ambulance. Sam accompanied her to the hospital and I stayed behind to talk to the police. I told them that along with the verbal abuse, Alli's mom had attacked her in a fit of drunken rage, multiple times, and she had the scars to prove it. They thanked me and said that they would handle the rest. I drove to the hospital to pick up Sam and take him home.
We held a small service for Allison a few days later. Only her closest friends and relatives were allowed to come.
