It's been much longer than a day
Not one message has came
But, your priorities are not the same
We were young, it has been many years
Nostalgic memories, they bring me tears
As we grew much older
Our lives became duller
That one message, a note
One that makes my heart and mind float
Delivered many years ago
Although, we both should know
Our friendship didn't last long
You played your last song
Now it's time to dance with death
As you breathed your last breath
Distance interferes, not one goodbye
It would be a lie
To say I didn't care
Because I do miss the years we shared
