"Well, that concludes your tour of Mystic Falls." Matt says as he pulls up to my house, it's now dusk.
"That was, enlightening." I say, not really ready to get out of the car. Not because I'm interested in him like that, yet, I just genuinely enjoy his company.
"So, Raegan," He begins, but I cut him off.
"I think you've earned the right to call me Rae." I laugh.
"So, RAE," he emphasizes, "would you maybe feel like going to that party tomorrow? I was going to go, but I feel like it might be better if you were there. Only as friends, not trying to make anything weird." He kind of rambles.
"Oh, I'm not really the party type," I start, he looks down, "but I guess I'll make an exception."
He cheers up and gives me one of those sexy smiles.
Calm down Rae.
"Well, I guess I better head inside." I say breaking the silence.
"Right, here, let me walk you to the door."
"The perfect gentleman." I tease.
A very short walk later and we're standing on my front porch.
"Well, Rae, I had fun tonight." He puts his hands in his pockets.
"Me too, I'm glad I met you Matt. I'll see you tomorrow." I say and awkwardly unlock my front door.
"See you tomorrow." He waves and heads back to his truck.
I climb the stairs to my room and flop down on my bed.
Jesus Rae, what'd you get yourself into this time.
I fall asleep with the thoughts of the blonde bartender on my mind but they quickly change to that passing stranger with the piercing eyes.

I wake up to my mom shaking me awake.
"Raeeee, wake up. Come on lazy butt it's almost 2." She resorts to hitting me with a pillow.
"Your dad had some work to finish up today at the middle school and I have to go get settled at the hospital." She gives me a quick kiss before heading down the stairs and out the door.
I'm not too sure what to do with my time so I text the only number I have: Matt.
"Hey Matt, you busy? - Rae"
After five minutes, I decide to get in the shower to try and get my day started.
After my shower, I throw on my black skinny jeans, vans, and a lacy tank top. I don't really bother too much getting my hair and the rest of myself together since I really don't care what people think.
My phone buzzes.
"Hey Rae, sorry I had to help Tyler grab some stuff for tonight. What's up? - Matt"
Thank God, my boredom is cured.
"Home alone, you want to hang out? -Rae"
I go down to grab some cereal hoping for a response soon.
"I'll be at your house in 5 - Matt"
I can't help but smile a little, thinking about Matt. I know it sounds a little weird, like I just met the guy. But I'm not in love with him. My thoughts are interrupted by a loud caw. I look out the window to see a crow, again. That isn't weird at all.
