Will things ever be the same for me, I don't know. I just ended up like this, having such an important task to do. I just want the weight to lift off my shoulders, to be free again. I am sick and tired of doing this, but I cannot leave her to die, she is one of the best persons that I have met. She's just like my second family, one that I have chosen for myself. I have to save her. And I will do whatever it takes.
How did it start, well... this is how.
It was just another day(ahem ahem), and I, being the bookworm, was reading a dystopian novel while walking to my friend, Eryn's house. Well, dystopian novel, huh? At that point, I never thought I'll get to experience a dystopian society. Ah well, not society. Just a group of kids.
"Hey, watch out!" Eryn cried. I looked up, upset to be interrupted. I was just getting to the interesting part of the novel, the part that they planned to rebel. Why did she even?- And I realised I almost crashed into a pillar.
Did I learn my lesson? No! Because, guess what? I continued reading my book.
"Rinco, I have to go to the toilet. Real quick, I'll run home. Meet you there!" Eryn hollered as clutching her stomach, she sprinted off to her home.
This is the part I regret. I should have just ran off with her.
What did I do?
"Mm, sure!" I replied, going back to my book.
Let me tell you a bit about the differences between Eryn and I.
Number one.Being the introvert, I liked to gain knowledge from my books while Eryn gained knowledge from just asking questions.
Number Two. Eryn was pretty. She had marvellous brown eyes that shone like stars and pearly white teeth. Her eyes, it seemed to smile when she smiled. Her light-brown silky hair was usually tied up into a high ponytail. Her flat tummy allowed her to walk around in a sports bra. A lot of boys had crushes on her.
Oh, me? I was just a less than average girl. Nobody would have thought that Eryn and I would become best friends. My hair was a very light shade of blonde, almost white, and my eyes were grey. My beady eyes were framed with an enormous pair of glasses, each lense as thick as a bottlecap. Pink braces made my teeth look- well, pink. I was as skinny as a stick, but my tummy bulged  over my worn out jeans. No, Eryn and I were as different as a graceful swan and a baboon with a red bottom. Me being the baboon.
But I was better than her in some things, being my intelligence. I was smarter than Eryn, always being a straight A student. Not that Eryn was dumb however. She usually got Bs and an occasional A, which was okay, I guess.
Another thing was Eryn's stomach. No, not about the flat stomach nonsense. If Eryn ate some food that was bad, maybe the teensy weeniest of germs, she would get sick. She also had very bad motion sickness, that too, affected her. I was grateful that I did not have that, being a fan of extreme roller coasters. Too bad I could not share the experience with Eryn.
So today she had to go to the toilet. Maybe the school lunch had some harmful stuff, no big deal.
When I reached Eryn's home (we were going to hang out and do stuff), I threw my bag down on the ground and ran upstairs to Eryn's room, expecting to see her. However she was not there, I brushed it away, thinking that maybe she was still in the bathroom.
That's when it happened.
The lights dimmed, my vision became blurry and the room began to spin. I heard soft, whispering voices, calling out my name, "Rinco Jemma Fayes" they repeated. Again and again. Non-stop. I thought I was going crazy. The whole world turned upside down. This is not happening, I thought to myself as I clutched the edge of  Eryn's bed to steady myself until my knuckles turned white. This is not happening, I am just suffering from Eryn-Syndrome.
And then everything turned back to normal, just that- there was a note on the bed, I took it in my trembling hands and began to read in a shaky voice.
"Rinco Jemma Fayes, you have been chosen. The other, Eryn Keyan Naylor has been captured at your front door. Your task is to save her. Your house is now and obstacle maze. Die potato." I read.
"Whah-wha? N-n-no." I stammered, unable to believe everything. Then, the world went black.
