Rinco
We said a silent prayer to Kin as her body mysteriously disappeared. I took down notes on the happenings in the notebook packed in my sack. My tears smudged the ink but I knew that this was for the teams survival. Sixty soldiers all looking the same do not appear out of nowhere. This was worse than the advanced critical thinking they gave us at school, harder than the math Olympiads I went to overseas. It was a braincracking mystery, I was sure even the best detectives could not solve. This was technology far more advanced than our century. How I miss my normal life now. It seemed like we had been in here forever.
Then I realised.
"Anyone has a watch?" I asked. Somehow I knew I was going to reveal something that would help us.
"I have!" Jonathan replied enthusiastically and I found myself looking into those eyes again.
"T-thanks." I stammered as he handed the watch too me. Ew, Rinco, that was so uncool!
The date on the watch. I was right. Time had been moving too fast to catch and there was evidence. It was the third of February. 13 days have passed since we were in this maze. Which meant we had to get out of here fast. Whoever created this had twisted time in some way.
Further still, I was fifteen today. Fifteen in this short day. I muttered happy birthday to myself, finding out that I was maturing too quickly. The more time we spend in here, the more of our life wasted. We even have a damned time limit now.
I told the others what I found out and they
tried to keep calm but I knew they were disturbed.
I tried to use my general knowledge to solve this problem.
If we had not drank any water for 13 days, we would have been dead by now. We would be starving beyond sanity. But we are still here, wiped out, but well and alive-except for Kin.
Okay so maybe we were not thirsty or starving, but we were tired. Just by answer, the room in front of us, the study room, had a sign.
"The anything room." Vanessa read and we knew what it was. Ask for any environment, you have it. I read about it in one of the fantasy books. One thing I knew, we had to be very specific.
I told them I would do this and went forward.
"I would like a room with 5 comfortable and warm beds. This room will be safe from any danger and filled with hot good food. This room will cater to our every need." I said, hoping we would get what we wanted.
With trembling hands, I opened the door, not knowing what would be waiting for me. I heaved a sigh of relief when I found that the room was exactly what we wanted. We went in, grateful to have a good rest, after the somewhat thirteen days.
Eryn
I waited. I waited. Waited for this to be over. Waited for Rinco to show up.
Anxiety.
Fear.
Frustration.
Fatigue.
What are we fighting for? What are we waiting for? Why don't we fight for real now? A few months had passed. There was no answer.
Questions.
If only there was an answer.
