Chapter 25~Attacked

"I was gettin' ready to come lookin' for ya" Daryl says as I walk back into town. "Where's Rick?" I ask blowing his concern off. I'm nowhere in the mood, "He's out on a run with Michonne" Carl says handing me Judith. "Hey there gorgeous" I take her and start walking to my house, Aura starts running down the street "Momma" she yells in her adorable little voice. She hugs my thigh and I bend down and kiss her head. "Anyone up for some basketball?" I ask. Carl nearly jumps out of his skin, "I'm down. I'm bored as hell" he says. We get a few people together and start playing basketball, Daryl comes over and grabs Judith out of her makeshift bouncer and walks around with her. Aura follows them and I smile before setting myself and shooting a 3, winning the game. "Undefeated once again" I smile and throw the basketball towards Carl.

I work with him on his shots until I see Michonne and Rick walking past, "Rick. You got a second?" he and Michonne both turn around, "Yeah, what's up?" he asks concerned I watch as Daryl walks over, "I was hunting in the woods and I got attacked by a group. The leader had a bat wrapped in barb-wire and he wasn't very comforting. At first it was just him and I and he was asking if I had a group and I told him no, he kept tryin' to get information out of me and I left him with the option to turn around and leave or take a bolt to the face. He then did this weird as whistle and 5 other guys showed up out of nowhere. Long story short, I killed 5 of his men and I think he's gonna come after me. Just make sure we up our guard a bit, please? He didn't seem like a good guy, he was giving off terrible vibes. He was creepy and overly-energetic and he names his bat" I explain, "What the hell kinda psycho names a bat?" Daryl exclaims, "Apparently this guy, and he named her Lucille of all names" I say with a chuckle.

**2 weeks later**

I wake up to screaming and gun shots outside. I hear Aura screaming for help and I turn my head to look and I feel the all too familiar coldness of a gun against my head. I put my right hand up in surrender but my left hand slides under my pillow and grips my gun. I make sure it's just this guy in here and I swiftly draw my gun and shoot at him. He smacks my arm causing me to miss and shoot the ceiling. He kicks my feet out from under me and I hit the ground with a thud, I then quickly kick his knee, causing it to snap inwards with a not so satisfying snap, he screams and hits the floor. I'm already on my feet, I step on his wrist. He drops the gun and pulls out a knife. I kick the gun out into the hallway and step on the knife before punching him right in his throat. He starts choking for air and I quickly slit his throat, the blood sprays all over my shirt. I stab him in the head to make sure he doesn't become a Walker. I then slide my pants and boots on and gear up as quickly as I can before going to find Aura. I'm walking down the hallway when I hear someone coming out of the room next to me, I aim my gun to see Carol at the end of it. I quickly lower my gun and see Aura behind her. I thank Carol and tell her to take Aura to the shelter and to make sure Judith is okay.

I take off outside to see a bloodbath, Michonne is on the porch of the house to my left. She looks at me before giving me a small nod and we both run into the middle of the fighting. I see Carl being cornered by 2 men, one guy is taunting him and saying very disturbing things. I sneak up on the one guy and stab him in the back. The other guy looks at me, I look at him and watch Carl in my peripherals. "You like playing with little boys, do ya?" I taunt walking towards him. All I see is red, the anger is boiling in my veins as I walk right up to the guy, he cowers down. "Too late for that" I growl and stab him right in his dick. "How's that feel you filthy, no good scumbag?" I say gritting my teeth. "Carl, let's go" I say handing him one of my knives. "I'm taking you to Carol" I add, "No I want to help" he complains. "God dammit Carl, no. You need to protect your sister" I growl at him. He shuts up and we continue walking.

I drop Carl off and take off, I run outside to see Michonne struggling with a guy, I walk up and grab his head before slitting his throat. One by one, we take these guys down until there's one left. Rick is fighting with him, "Don't kill him. We need answers" I yell walking towards them. I help Rick handcuff him and we take him to the cellar.
