"Stop."
Changkyun had heard the door creak open, but he looked up, startled slightly as Hyungwon spoke in a monotone. He followed the older's gaze towards the door where Jooheon stood. He was completely drenched to the bone and dripping water. His hair was plastered down to his forehead and his robes were looking much worse for the wear, as if he'd been caught in a storm.
Which he had been, actually. And right out over sea.
Jooheon groaned. "Hyung," he whined, dropping his equally battered broomstick, "I'm so tired. I don't have time for this."
Hyungwon sighed and raised his wand, pointing it at Jooheon. Steam began rising off him until he was completely dry, hair firzzed out over his goggles. He picked up his broom and entered the room.
"Thanks," he said gruffly.
"Wouldn't hurt if you actually learned how to do it for yourself," Hyungwon said, still passive as always. Jooheon smirked lopsidedly.
'What can I say? You're the red robe here."
Changkyun smiled and chuckled lightly, bending his head back down to what he and Hyungwon had been doing before Jooheon's arrival from yet another stormy training session.
"Ah, still haven't given up?" he asked, observing them as he began to strip off his Quidditch robes and gear. Underneath, his shorts and full sleeved shirt (which hadn't been much help against the cold) had been impeccably dried as well.
Changkyun shook his head without looking up.
"I told you I wasn't."
Between him and Hyungwon on the bed was a mess of books, notes, quills and, last but not the least, a laptop. They had been working for a couple months now, and although Jooheon had offered to help in any way he could, his knowledge about computer coding would have to wait until they found a way through the magical barrier in place at Mahoutokoro. It was pretty much the same as any barrier at all eleven wizarding schools across the globe, i.e. it rendered them unidentified to Muggles, kept them off satellite location and GPS and basically protected them from exposure.
But, Changkyun had reasoned one day, it was the twenty first century. He really needed some gadgets, and more importantly, WiFi, to survive (excuse his teenage ass). And he hadn't been the only one to think so. Plus, Ilvermorny, the American wizarding school, had even allowed their students free use of gadgets AND given them special Internet connections that managed to keep them undetected anyhow. So had Durmstrang, the Scandinavian school. And Hogwarts might be uptight, but some students had allegedly managed to break 'blind spots' into the magic blanket which could be used as Internet junctions.
Mahoutokoro, the Japanese-Asian wizarding school, meanwhile, was hesitating too. The students had heard of a motion being passed in the Ministry, but that was it. They didn't want to give their students a distraction and ruin their reputation as the most academic school alongside Hogwarts.
But Changkyun still had two more years to go here, so he might as well help himself--and others.
But Hyungwon was in his last year now, and was by far one of the most brilliant students at Mahoutokoro. He had to admit he was heavily relying on one of his best friends for what he was trying to do--he and Jooheon might know a lot about computers and codes and whatnot, but Hyungwon was the brains figuring out how to create a loophole in the barrier, which was the main problem.
