"Will you go out with me?"
She screams internally through the phone, and says, "y-yes!!"
The implication had made it through.
a gleeful energy has seeped into everything she does. It's been one long, happy week. She smiles at the thought of her.
It's a bright morning, and the sun shines just for the seemingly happy couple. Talking might have been awkward, but to her everything was perfect.
She smiles thinking of talking to her sitting in class, barely noticing a friend talking nervously near her. The friend had been oddly put out lately.
A message is received midday. The friend,
she had only been talking to her out of pity.
the whole year of lies, the whole year of fake laughter.
and one,
one
bitch.
She breaks down internally, refusing to show any of it on the outside.
Three hours later, it's started to rain. looking at the big droplets slowly pouring down the window, she wonders if she was needed anyways.
the friend was leaving. they left.
the bitch was gone, they left.
as she sunk farther down,
one thing entered her mind.
At least I have her.
She remembered her and the raindrops looked a little less dreary.
She picked up her phone to text her.
.
.
One new message
.
.
"I'm sorry I think we need to break up"
.
.
"I tried, I really did, but I just couldn't do it."
.
.
"I'm sorry."
And her heart sank. The phone slipped out of her hand and fell onto the floor with a crash.
Her heart twisted in and out, seemingly restless in its socket.
Tears welled up in her eyes.
"She tried"
So she was just pitying me. Just like the bitch.
She had "tried"
She never had felt anything for her.
And now, she was alone.
She watched the dismal grey sky, taunting her tearstained face and shaking body.
she fell onto the bed, and covered her head with a pillowcase.
She kept it there, refusing to breath.
She stayed
she sank
she cried
and she never had been so unwanted.
