Better With You// Petiana (ON HOLD)

Prologue

Unknown POV

"They'll be ready for you in hair and make up in 20" a perky assistant told Ariana as she was looking at her phone. She was the musical guest for SNL's premiere with Chris Pratt and was beyond nervous. All she wanted was for Mac to be here to tell her that it everything would be alright before she went on but he had to be in the studio that night. Rehersal went fine the day before and everyone was getting ready when all of a sudden she felt a presence behind her

"Guess who?"  mac asked as he covered Ariana's eyes from behind

"um.. Mac?" she giggled 

"bingo" he as he moved in front of her to give her a kiss

"what are you doing here I thought you said you couldn't make it?"

"well I talked to my manager and rescheduled some stuff for later"

Ari and Mac had been going out for a couple of weeks and were having the times of their lives with each other. Of course its the beginning and thats when everything goes smoothly but they were still holding out for the best. They absolutely adored each other and were always smiling except for the occasions when Mac would go out and get hammered but it didn't happen to often. 

"come on babe I have to go to hair and make up" Ari said as they exited her dressing room

It was a short walk across the studio and they both took a seat. Chris was already there talking to another man who Ariana formally introduced to yet but she was pretty sure his name was Pete. 

"Ari, finally I was wondering where you were" Chris said as he got up to give her a quick hug

"sorry but this one came and suprised me in my dressing room" she said pointing to Mac

"Well this Pete Davidson" refering to the person standing next to him. Ari gulped as the tall brunette stood up and made short eye contact 

"Hey I'm Pete, its Ariana right?" holding out his hand

"y-yea and thats Mac" she said as she shook his hand

"sup man" and they did a bro hug

soon the hair dressers came in and they had all engadged in conversasion

"come on Mac stop she's trying to work" Ari giggled as he planted kisses on her neck

"wow you two are making me sick with this PDA" Chris said as he faked a gag

"shut up don't be jelous of young love" Pete interjected

"come on Davidson tell me you not at least a little tired of being single?" he questioned

that comment came as a suprise to Ari because he was a good looking guy 

"actually I happen to have a date next week so don't even start"

"who the hell would go out with you?" Mac laughed

"hey don't be mean!" as Ari slapped his arm 

"thank you I'm not that ugly, but one of my friends set me up with this girl Cazzie"

"Cazzie David?" Mac asked

"yea why" 

Mac and Chris looked at each other and both busted out laughing

"who's Cazzie David?" Ariana question 

"Dude she's larry davids daughter and you better watch out because from what I've heard about her, that chick is crazy" Chris responded

"guys we need you to set now!" someone yells while banging through the door 

"I'll see you later babe" Ariana said as she gave Mac a kiss

"you'll do great" he said as strolled towards the exit

-------after the show--------

"and that's a wrap, great job tonight guys!" the director yelled

everyone cheered and hugs were passed around by all the cast members.  Ari was making her way back to her dressing room when someone called from behind her

"Ariana wait!" 

she turned around to see Pete slightly jogging to catch up to her

"hey I didn't see you after" she said pulling into a hug

"sorry I got a call from my mom"

"is everything alright?"

"yea she just wanted to say hi but anyways there is a premiere party tonight for the cast on the balcony and I was wondering if you wanted to come?"

"um yea sure thats sound fun, I'm gonna change"

"why you look great?" he smiled

Is he flirting? Ariana thought to herself 

"t-thanks, well then lets go" she stuttered as they both began to walk towards the elevator

"don't be nervous its just a party" he wishpered being so close to her that she could feel his breath on her skin making the hairs on her neck stand up

"I-I'm not" she denied

"yes you are, you stutter when you're nervous" he chuckled

"I'm not n-nervous" she said slightly pushing him

"its alright but the real question is are you nervous about the party or nervous about being there with me?" winking as he turned around

By the time they made it everyone was already upstairs with the music so loud that Ari could feel the vibration through her body. Colors flashed all around the floor and people were dancing like there was no tomorrow. 

"do you want a drink?" Pete tried to yell over the music and the voices of others.

"yea I'll take whatever you're having" watching him mix alcohol with some soda

She takes the drink and instantly starts to cough "holy shit this is strong"

"oh my god are you a lightweight when it comes to alcohol?" he laughes

"oh you're on Davidson" she said as she swallowed the rest of the drink while ignoring the burning sensation that came from her throat

After that the rest of the night was a blur filled with dancing, laughing and a ton of drinking and although they had just met Ari and Pete bonded like they had known each other their whole lives.
