Lauren's POV

I wake up to nobody beside me. Confused, I sit up. I'm usually the one to wake up before Arielle does. Lightly chewing on my bottom lip, I check the room for any notes or messages, just in case she had an emergency.

"Emergency" as in her grandfather passing. He has had cancer for the past 3 years and he is only getting worse. She's been in and out of work and most of her time is spent at the hospital.

I push the brown duvet off of my body, shivering at my nakedness. Pulling on a long shirt from beside the bed, I get up.

Huh.. that's unusual.. I think to myself, eyeing the strewn about clothes left from last night. Only, there are Arielle's clothes mixed in too.

I stand up and my weight creaks against the wooden floors.

She couldn't have just vanished. Maybe she woke up early and brought clothes with her. Her phone is still on my nightstand so I furrow my brows.

She doesn't go anywhere without that thing.

I walk my cold feet to the door and it creaks open. Looking down the hallway, I don't see her at all. I look into the bathroom and see no one in there.

Tucking a fly hair away from my face, I continue my way toward the kitchen.

Nothing.

Looking any where else she could possibly be, I'm at a loss for words.

I decide to call 911 and report her missing.
