Lauren's POV

Before the police arrive, I pad my way to my room, putting on a bra and some underwear. I keep the shirt I have on and as I hear a knock at the door, I jog my way to it.

Police lights flash outside so I open the door and a man clad in a uniform and black shoes stares at me.

"You say you can't find your girlfriend?" He asks, studying my face. A woman with long, black, wavy hair stands next to him. I nod, allowing them inside.

...

"When was the last time you saw Arielle?" The woman asks, whom I learned is named Lainey. The man who greeted me at first is named Vincent.

Lainey sips her coffee I brewed for her, giving me an intense stare.

"Last night, we had just finished.. uh.." I cough, "Having sex."

"We fell asleep and this morning I woke up and she was just gone. Her phone is still here and so are her clothes," I explain further, Vincent narrowing his eyes at me.

Honestly Vincent seems kind of like a homophobe but it doesn't really even matter, my girlfriend is missing and I need to find her.

Lainey scratches something down on a notepad that they brought with them.

"Has Arielle been acting strange lately? Any behavorial changes or things that we should know for the record?" Vincent asks.

"Uhm not really. The only thing she changed was her diet. She is vegan now and was really excited about it."

I feel tears rising in my throat and I choke them down, swallowing.

Picking my steaming mug of straight black coffee up, I sip from it.

Lainey smiles at me, appreciating my patience. "We will do our best and send out search parties to find her. I'm so sorry you have to go through this."

Vincent stands up and so does Lainey. They both say their goodbyes and leave, driving off.

I just really hope we find Arielle.
