Thomas and Minho left for their run, and Eliza was sitting on one of the beds. Jeff unwrapped her leg, and inspected the wound. ''Well, it's closed up thanks the amount of medicine we put on it, but it's still swollen. I'm going to put more medicine on, and re-wrap it. Can you put pressure on it?"Eliza took in a breath and stood up with her right leg hanging a little. She put it down gently, and tried to walk, but she grunted in pain. Her walk was more like a wobble, but she could put pressure on it. ''It hurts,''
Jeff nodded, ''Well, obviously. You got stabbed. Another day or two and you'll be golden.''
''Do I still need the crutches?"
Jeff tilted his head, thinking for a moment. ''I don't think so, but don't do anything excessive.''
Eliza nodded gratefully, ''Thanks, shank.''
Once the sun started setting, everyone gathered around the doors, eager to see if any progress had been made. But the other reason was the sound of things falling, and echoing throughout the Glade.
''What the hell's going on out there?" Newt asked once Minho and Thomas came into view.
"What the hell you done now, Thomas?" Gally accused.
Minho and Thomas walked right past everyone, and the Glader's struggled to keep up with their speed.
''We found something, a new passage.'' Thomas rushed out. "We think it could be a way out.''
"Really?" Newt asked.
''It's true.'' Minho said, backing up Thomas. "We opened a door, something I've never seen before. I think it must be where the Griever's go during the day.''
''Wait, you're saying you think the found the home of where those, things, live?" Eliza questioned, her eyes wide. "You want us to go through there?"
"Their way in could be our way out, Eliza.'' Thomas replied.
"Yeah, or there could be a dozen Grievers waiting on the other side. The truth is, Thomas doesn't know what he's done, as usual.'' Gally spat, his temper getting the best of him.
Finally fed up with Gally's verbal abuse, Thomas spun around. ''Yeah, at least I did something, Gally. I mean, what have you done?" He challenged. "Aside from hide behind these walls all the time?''
"Lemme tell you something, Greenie,'' Gally said, his face close to Thomas'. "You've been here three days, alright? I've been here for three years!''
"Yeah, you've been here three years and you're still here, Gally!'' Thomas fired back. ''What does that tell you? Maybe you should start doing something a little differently.''
''Maybe you should be in charge, how about that?" Gally asked.
"Hey, it's Alby!'' A voice yelled, breaking up the argument. It was Teresa. "He's awake.''
