Alexander deserved this damn it. After a week of our stupid games, it was the least he deserved. I swore to him I'd get back at him, and if there was ever a girl who was crazy committed to carrying out her promises of revenge - it was me.
"Alright class, I'm gonna call you by table and when I do I want you to come up here, present your items, and then put them back in your locker as soon as your done." Mr. Banderas announced after the last couple of students shuffled in with the bell ring.
The "items" he asked for were supposed to demonstrate that we had an "accurate understanding of the elements" or some crap like that. I don't really remember, because after I realized that this would help me carry out my revenge I stopped listening.
"Sidney and Nick will go first, Estella and Alexander second-", after Mr. Banderas had told me what place we were I tuned out. Second. Not as good as first, but better than last.
"Just wait until you see what I have planned for you." Alexander whispered under his breath, his gaze unmoving from Mr. Banderas. I didn't turn to look at him either, but I just knew that this horrible being sitting next to me had his most infuriating smirk on.
"I bet it's not half as good as mine is." I bit my bottom lip to prevent myself from laughing. I tried my hardest to peak at his face through the corner of my eye, but I made sure that it didn't appear as if I was making any extra effort to do so. I didn't want to make it obvious that I was trying to verify whether or not he was bluffing - but knowing Alexander, this assignment was about to get a whole lot more interesting.
I got bored with looking at Alexander's horribly beautiful face and decided to focus my attention on the kids in front of me who were presenting - what a stupid idea.
Sidney was obviously taking extra long, like on purpose. It was ridiculous the way she would stutter and elongate her words. I wanted to cry just seeing her stand up there. As if she wasn't bad enough, her partner Nick was a nerd who loved to use big words. So this marvelously boring partnership made their presentation of the two diagrams they drew for Hydrogen take freaking half an hour.
A diagram of Hydrogen? Fine, I can handle that, even if it lacks originality. But a halfhour presentation on a diagram of Hydrogen? Please step aside human beings before I shoot you both in the face.
"Thank you both, for that." Mr. Banderas smiled, but he was obviously lying to make them feel good. There presentation sucked, as proven by the snores I heard behind me.
"Estella and Alexander, ready?" He asked as he looked up at us.
I tried to keep my cool as I slid out from my chair, but I found myself practically running for the item that I had hidden under a cloth in the back table this morning.
I made sure no one would've been able to discover it before I got to class, and set up all the necessary buttons beforehand so that I could work the object within seconds. After I lifted the cloth and made sure everything was still in working condition, I turned and stood in front of it so that I could make sure no one saw my object.
I bit my lip to hide the huge smile that was threatening to reveal my plans, and waited anxiously for Alexander to turn around and face me. Although, as I saw Alexander hooking something up outside, I'll admit I got a tiny bit scared.
"Alexander and Estella, what are you two doing?" Mr. Banderas asked. Was that a tremble I heard in his voice?
We were standing on opposite ends of the classroom, and we both had a deviously coy and mischievous look on our faces as we breathed a little bit heavier in anticipation.
