NICK'S POV
Today was Demi's birthday, and I was determined to make it special. We had to be on set that day so I told the rest of the crew we should have a surprise party for her. There I would sing 'Hello Beautiful'
I could wait to see Demi's smile the smile that his so much, but made everyone feel 10x better when they were sad. My heart broke everytime Demi was sad, she was someone who deserved to be happy out of a lot of people. Fuck everyone deserves to be happy.
Demi was supposed to come by the room where the party was being held in about 10 minuets, a good friend of ours Allyson Stoner would be bring her by. Saying she forgot something to get Demi to come with her. As soon as everyone hid, we heard footsteps and we all yelled "Suprise!"
I immediately ran an gave Demi a huge hug. Her smile was so radiant that all I could do was stare at her. She looked so happy. That's what I loved Demi being happy.
There was a stage set up on the mini stage in the front of the room, where there were microphones, two chairs, and best of all two guitars. I ran up and tapped on the mic "Excuse me Id just like to wish the birthday girl, miss Demi to join me up on stage" I saw a smile come across Demi's face just as I finished my words. She came up and I told her I had a surprise for her. She looked excited, shocked, and happy all at the same time.
I pulled out my guitar and began to sing Hello Beautiful to the most beautiful girl in the whole wide world.
DEMI'S POV
Today felt like any other day, I still felt as shitty as I did the day before. The only difference was that I was 16. I looked on twitter to see my fans wishing my endless happy birthdays and a smile crept on my face. For once it felt like everything was going to be okay, i decided that everything was going to be okay. I decided to be happy even if it was just for that day.
I had to do a live chat for my fans an I tried to act like nothing was on my mind, but it seemed impossible. I smiled throughout the whole thing, and said my thank yous to them for the birthday wishes. I even made a few jokes, about how it didn't feel any different to be 16. When it was finished I saw a tweet that made me smile bigger than I had before. it was from Nick. "@NickJonas Happy birthday to the most beautiful girl I know. I hope you have a great day see you later on set!!! @ddlovato"
It was a normal tweet but the fact that Nick called me beautiful, and even remembered it was my birthday meant the world to me.
This was even more motivation to
be happy. Whenever I struggled I would think of Nick, Id call him and we'd talk for hours. He always made me feel better so I used him as motivation to get better.
I had to be on set in an hour so I got dressed knowing not to dress in anything special I put on sweatpants and a tshirt on. Today we were filming the music class scene where I had to sing in front of everyone. Which I didn't mind because a side from Nick, music was an outlet for me when I was sad. When I got to the set everyone wished me happy birthdays, and when I was saw Nick he ran up to me and gave me a huge hug and practically screamed "HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEM"
all I could do was laugh because he was so cute. When I got to the makeup and wardrobe area I got dressed quickly and got my makeup done. I sang my song and was done for the day with filming by that time it was 5 pm. I changed into a pink strapless dress, because Allyson told me we were going somewhere special afterwards. When I came out of my dressing room Allyson said I looked "Fabulous" and for the first time I believed it.
When we walked to the room, I saw tables and food, and a mini stage. When everyone yelled "Surprise" a smile crept onto my face, Nick immediately came running towards me. I suspected that he was the one behind this, and I couldn't have been more happy then I was at that exact moment. Even if it was for a few hours it was all worth it.
Everyone was having a great time, talking, eating, and everyone was happy. That was when Nick went up on the mini stage that was set up at the front of the room he said "Excuse me Id just like to wish the birthday girl, miss Demi to join me up on stage" I didn't know what was about to happen, but he looked so happy and excited I knew it was going to something great.
I went up on stage and took a seat in one of the two chairs that up on the stage. I immediately saw the guitars that we leaning against the wall. Maybe this was the surprise that Nick was telling me about when I was unconscious in the hospital. Maybe he was going to sing me something special. A few seconds later Nick picked up the guitar and started singing a song I have never heard before but it was so beautiful. I listening intently and noticed that the song itself was called 'Hello Beautiful' I knew it wasn't on any of their albums so I knew it was something brand new.
His voice was sweet, kind, and simply perfect. He started slowly but as he went on you could tell he meant every word he sang.

When he finished he had the biggest smile on his face, and tears had begun to form in my eyes. He said into the mic "I wrote that song for Demi, it's a song about someone who is truly beautiful, and someone that I love very much" That's when everyone started to clap a cheer. I tapped Nick's shoulder and the tears started to cascade across my cheeks. "Thank you so much Nick you don't know what this means to me."
He replied by saying "Demi I wrote you this song because I want you to feel beautiful, all day, every single day. Demetria Devonne Lovato you're beautiful. And I love you." In a whisper he added "Don't worry Dem I'm gonna help you, I'm gonna save you."
It hit me in that moment I realized someone actually cared, someone saw through my fake smile, someone was going save me from myself.
