"Who knew that you could've slain a dragon?" Boomer asked as they laid on the grass.
"Please don't remind me." Bubbles mumbled.
He smiled, "What made you come to Wonderland?"
"A white rabbit."
"That sneaky little guy. He loves to jump between the normal and Wonderland all the time. You know that he almost started the fall of England when he jumped out from behind the king's chair."
Bubbles raised her eyebrow. She didn't see how that make any sense but now she's used to it. It's Wonderland. Nothing makes sense and nothing else will. Bubbles grew to love it. She grew to know that down is up and up is down. Bubbles couldn't imagine her life different. She couldn't imagine not being in Wonderland anymore.
Or not being with Boomer anymore.
"I will miss you, Boomer." Bubbles whispered.
Boomer closed his eyes, "And I will miss you, my dear."
"We will never see each other again, will we?"
"Do we have to talk about this? Let's just watch the stars."
"Boomer, I can't just watch the stars. Do you know what awaits me the moment I leave Wonderland? A cruel and greedy man has asked for my hand in marriage. What will I say? 'I'm sorry Mitch but my heart belongs to a man I will never again because he is in another world.'?"
Boomer turned over on his side, grabbing her waist and pulled her close. Bubbles put her face in his chest. Boomer just kept his arms wrapped around her, not opening his eyes. He didn't want to open his eyes. He knew soon that Brick will ride up here with the flask of the dragon spit where she has to make a wish to go home.
He doesn't want to let her go but he can't allow her to stay here. She won't last long because mortal time isn't the same here. Boomer wouldn't be able to survive in her world either. Wonderland time is much more slowed down, the moment he would touch the soil he would die under thirty minutes. His age would truly show.
Boomer rubbed her back as Bubbles began to cry. Bubbles didn't want to leave Wonderland. This place has made so many memories. It's so strange and odd but she loves it. She isn't judged by allowing her mind to wander. Bubbles want to stay here more than anything. Yet she can't and that will haunt her forever.
"My heart will only belong to you, Bubbles." Boomer whispered. "I can't keep you forever living in the past. I can't let you hold back."
"Are you telling me that I should marry him?" Bubbles asked.
"No, I'm saying that you need to follow your heart. The moment you return there, promise me you won't sulk about us not being together unless you really too. Promise me that you will do everything that you ever dreamed of."
"I promise."
Boomer smiled, "I will not forget you."
"I hope not."
"Bubbles?"
"Yes."
"I love you with my entire heart, my dear. You will be the only thing my heart will ever long for and I promise that we will be together one day."
"That's a big promise, Boomie."
"It's the truth."
Bubbles looked away from his chest to look him in the eye. She let him go then unwrap his arms from her waist. Boomer raised his eyebrow in confusion but his face is written with sadness. She stood up as she held out her hand for him to take. Boomer took her hand without a second thought.
He stood up with some help from her. She took his other hand and look up at him. Boomer smiled as the wind blew past them. The stars are bright and the moon is the only light that shows him Bubbles' face. Her bright blue eyes, blonde curls blowing with some fallen strands on her forehead.
Bubbles closed her eyes and lean up. Boomer closed his eyes and leaned down. Their lips met, it was a simple kiss but emotions burst through each chest. If you could close at the teens you could see a red string wrapping around them. The string tightens each second and only loosen once the teens pulled their lips apart.
They put their foreheads together. Eyes both close to take in this moment. The moment they almost have to let each other go forever. Their hands didn't let go, they stayed between them both having a tight grip.
Horses were heard from where they are standing. Bubbles were the first one to open her eyes as she looked over and saw the carriage of King Brick. Boomer squeezed his eyes tight so he couldn't cry but tears came out of his eyes. Bubbles look at him with a frown.
"I love you," Bubbles whispered.
"I love you too." Boomer replied.
The two blondes let go of each other's hand to hug. Boomer held onto her while burying his head on her shoulder. She began to cry again. Her hands tangled in his blonde hair, wanting to remember how soft they are. Boomer let go of her and cup her face with his hands and he a small smile.
"I want to remember our last sight of each other with smiles." Boomer said.
Bubbles frowned, "How can I smile when my heart is full of sadness?"
"Even with a heart full of sadness, you can always find one reason to smile."
"I do have a reason but it's also why my heart is full of sadness."
"We will be together again. Just you wait."
"I know."
"Don't forget about me, my dear."
"As long you won't forget about me, Boomie."
"Never."
