I was woken up by the sound of cooking and plates clattering. I decided to run straight down into the kitchen to eat my breakfast not caring about my appearance and all of that shit.
I manage to tumble down the stairs and fall right down on my ass 3 times. Nothing new.
"Good morning darling!" Jessica greeted me.
"Yeah good moring." I said while taking a seat on my chair.
She gave me a plate of pancakes covered with powdered sugar and slices of strawberries and a bowl of salad.
I fucking hate salads btw.
I'm clearly not in the mood to complain or anything so I just ate my pancakes in silence.
"Hey babe get ready we'll leave in a minute." My dad shouted from the living room.
"Yeah get down here and get your food"Jessica shouted back
"Now honey I would like you to explore this house and there's food on the cupboard if you get hungry." Jessica said looking at me while preparing a sandwich for dad.
"Yeah sure don't worry about me."
I said while faking a smile."Oh I almost forgot .... don't go to the basement." She said in a serious tone completely changing her demeanor.
Istg this bitch is creeping the fuck out of me.
"What's on the base-" I was cut off by my dad entering the kitchen completly changing the thick tension building up.
"Good morning!" My dad greeted while hugged me and kissed my forehead.
"Morning." I said smiling back at him still startled by what Jessica told me.
"Ready to go babe?" Dad asked Jessica while picking up the brown bag with his sandwich in it on the table.
"Yup, here's your coffee" She said while passing him a cup of coffee and giving him a peck on his lips.
I just watch in disgust while eating my salad.
"Bye Mads" Dad said while ruffling my hair.
"See you later honey" Jessica told me while kissing my forehead staining it with her red lipstick and passing me an orange juice.
I just gave them a small smile and waved.
When I heard the door close I dropped my fake smile and wiped my forehead with my hands.
I went back to my seat and stared at my salad.
Man I fucking hate salads so much.
"Don't worry its not you its me." I said to my salad.
"Wtf are you doing?" Lucas said popping out of nowhere
"Holy shit you scared the crap out of me!" I screamed while holding my chest for my dear life.
"What are you talking about? You're the one scaring me." He said pointing back and forth at me and the salad.
"Anyways where's mom and dad?" Lucas asked while preparing his breakfast and coffee for both of us.
"They left, where are they going anyways?" I asked him while playing with my salad.
"Eh probably going to a friends house." He said while handing me my coffee.
"Really?"
"What?"
"Add cream and sugar to my coffee!"
"Fine! no need to shout assface."
Whn he continued to make me coffee I stared at him for a solid 3 seconds.
"Hey Lucas"
"Yeah?" He said while turning around to face me.
"By any chance is there a little girl living near our house?" I asked him remembering the girl that I saw playing on the rice feilds.
"No... why did you ask?" He said with his voice laced with confusion and concern.
"I saw a girl playing in the rice feild yesterday and I thought you know her."
"Huh? That's weird. Why would a girl be playing in the rice feild all by herself? Plus the nearest town is probably an hour away." He said while taking a seat and passed me my coffee.
"I don't know I just saw her there. She has blond hair, like your hair, she was also wearing a light pink dress and she was carrying this teddy bear with her."
Lucas was silent. He looked like he is lost in his own thoughts.
He know something.
"Lucas?"
"Huh? What?"
"Do you know this girl?"
"Nope. I never seen a little girl near this house."He said with uncertainty in his voice.
"Oh ok well I should take a bath by now." I said changing the topic not wanting to push Lucas any further.
"You should, you smell like shit and look like one to."
I rolled my eyes at him and threw a piece of lettuce at his face as I grabbed my coffee and run as fast as I can to my room as he shouted profanities.
When I reached my room I decided to get my phone and check if there are any messages.
A message popped out.
Unknown number: Be careful and don't trust anyone.
Wtf
This is probably one of those useless chain messages. Delete.
I drank some of my coffee before going to the bathroom.
After taking a bath and fixing my disgusting appearance I played some music and danced around my room like a lunatic.
I opened the curtains and let the sunlight enter my room. I continue to admire the view for a minute before spotting a teddy bear on the ground.
The little girl.
