Chapter 20

Chapter 20- 

I woke up with a splitting headache. I sighed rubbing my tired, puffy eyes. Okay so I basically got home and cried myself to sleep. Today was my day off and the girls left for school early. Lottie said she wouldn't wake me up today as I needed my sleep. I couldn't of just gone back to sleep at this moment but I knew I had to get up and go grocery shopping before the girls came back. I sighed and dragged myself out of bed, heading for a shower. After my shower, I towel dried my hair and got changed into a pair of jeans and a simple white shirt. I put my shoes on and grabbed the house keys before heading out. I wasn't hungry, so I didn't need to eat breakfast. I sighed and walked down the stairs, instead of taking the elevator and stepped out onto the street. It was rather warm today, with the sun shining and all. I pondered for a few moments, enjoying the sun when a car pulled up in front of me. I looked and saw Harry sitting there, gesturing for me to climb in. I didn't want to, but I guess I couldn't stop myself. I opened the door and climbed in as we sat in silence for a while. "Are you okay?" Harry asked and I nodded. "I'm fine Harry." I said finding it hard to turn my gaze to him. "Your sister phoned me..." He trailed off and thats when I snapped my gaze to him. "What?" I asked not believing my own ears. "She told me you cried yourself to sleep last night?" He asked and I looked down. "Just drop it okay." I said and was about to get out the car but he grabbed my hand, stopping me from leaving the car. "Please tell me." He said with worry in his dull green eyes. "Harry, I said drop it!" I snapped and ripped my arm from his grip and climbed out the car before walking down the street. I felt bad for what I did, but I couldn't help it. I couldn't get attached anymore, it would only break my heart more then it already is. 

 "Louis wait!" I tried to walk faster but he caught up to me and stopped me. I kept my gaze down, away from him but he lifted my gaze to his. "Don't push me out." He whispered but I just shook my head.  "I'm not..." I said but he sighed. "just tell me! I will understand!" He begged. I felt tears in my eyes again but I couldn't let them fall. I took a deep breath before nodding. "I'm scared." I whispered and he frowned. "Of what?" He asked. "Of getting to attached. Of losing you I guess is a better one." I said and he frowned even more. "You won't lose me." He said but I smiled. "Harry you have a job to do... I'm not included in this job!" I snapped as he looked down. "See! Harry your job doesn't include me and it never will. I'm just someone that was your butler." I said. "Not true... You're someone I fell in love with." He said and I shrugged. "None of it matters now." I said as he looked down. "Harry I said last night I would always be there for you, but you have to understand this is hard for me!" I said and he nodded. "Can we try be friends? Just for today. And if it doesn't work... I will leave you alone until you are okay with being my friend..." Harry said and I thought of it for a short time. "Sure. Let's just try." I said and he smiled. We both awkwardly walked back to his car and climbed in and heading down the road to the grocery store. "It won't be a good idea if you come into the grocery store." I said as he came to a stop in the small parking lot. "Why not?" He asked and I gave him the 'are you serious?' Face and he nodded, understanding. "Just stay in the car." I said and climbed out, slamming the door before walking into the shop. 

 My mind raced with questions and feelings and I just wanted it all to stop. I slowly put things into the trolley as I walked around. I was scanning through the shelves, looking for the twins favourite cereals when I heard 2 familiar voices behind me. It was Niall and Linda but I didn't bother to turn round and just tried to hide myself in the cereals. "Niall! You're so stubborn!" Linda snapped. "Linda this is my job! If Harry turns out gay, I can lose my jobs wait scratch that! If he comes out publicly gay, I will lose my job!!!" He snapped back. "Niall, you have to understand this right... He was happy! Very happy but forcing him to marry that woman is sick! I would rather go marry him so he can still be with the person he loves because I would never stop him!!" She said and I heard Niall growl before his trolley slammed into mine. "You can be such a dick!" Linda screeched before coming towards me. "Louis..." She said and I gave her a small smile before removing their trolley from mine. "This is my job Linda! You should understand that!" Niall said but she just ignored him and walked away with me. "Linda! Come back here!" Niall shouted and span me around but his eyes widened seeing me. "You heard it all didn't you?" He asked and I gave a curt nod before walking away. "Louis... Please don't be angry! I would change everything if my job wasn't at stake." He said and I gritted my teeth, turning to face him. "Your job is on the line? Harry was supposed to be your friend! You think he wants to marry the bitch? His job is on stake too!! At least you have other options! He loses his job and everything else that comes with it! You think you have problems? Think about the person that you order around!" I snapped and pushed my trolley to the pay area.

 Once I payed, Linda came up to me with a small smile. "Mind if I come with you?" She asked and I smiled. "come on, Harry is sitting in the car." I said as we walked to his land rover. "What took you so long?" Harry asked as I opened the door to put the shopping in. "Sorry Harry, it's my fault." Linda said climbing into the back seat. "Linda? What you doing here?" Harry asked as I climbed into the passenger seat. "She is here because Niall is a dick at this moment." I said and Harry frowned pulling out the car park. "I stay in the car for my safety but I miss all this? Gosh I always miss this stuff." Harry whined and I laughed. "You wouldn't of want to hear it anyways." Linda said. The car fell silent as we pulled up outside the building I stayed in. I grabbed the shopping as we all headed up. I unlocked the door and placed the shopping into the kitchen before heading to the living room where the others were. "Okay so bad news... Niall is not willing to lose his job over this whole thing." Linda went straight to the point. "I guess I don't blame him..." Harry said looking down. I just wanted to go over to hug him but I stopped myself. "But Niall should think of you to Harry. He has basically just forced you to marry someone you aren't in love with!" Linda argued. "Lou and I have made a deal to try be friends..." He began but Linda cut him off. "Friends?! You shouldn't have to do that!!" She said loudly. "Linda I don't have a choice... I love Louis more then life itself but I can't lose my job." Harry said. I kept my gaze down, trying to hide the fact I was pushing tears away. "Harry I know your job is important, but think of Louis too!" She said. "He agreed to the friends deal..." Harry said and I knew he was looking at me. "Did you Louis?" Linda asked and I sighed. "Yeah I did..." I said softly, not lifting my gaze from the floor. It was silent until I saw Harry kneeling down next to me, making me look at him. "It's hurting isn't it?" he whispered and I shrugged. "Louis please talk to me..." Harry said begging me with his eyes. "What do you want me to day Harry? Leave everything to be with me? I can't do that... I would never do that. I'm just hurting because I know I will never have you,because in someway she will always have you." I said as he looked at me with tears in his eyes. "Lou, I want you more then anything I would give up everything for you..." He whispered holding my face in his hands as his thumb wiped the tear that fell from my eye. "But you can't Harry... Thats the thing.  You know that as much as I do!!" I said. He sighed and pulled me down to connect our lips for a short time. "I don't care what happens. I want you and i promise before the wedding takes place, you will be the one to walk down the aisle. Not Kendall." He whispered and my eyes widened at the words. "Wait..." I began and he smiled. "It is a proposal..." He whispered and I heard Linda gasp and I looked towards her as she was smiling so wide and so happy. "All you got to do is accept..." He whispered as I turned my gaze to him. "I-I don't know..." I felt a lose of words but he just smiled at me. "You don't need to give me a answer yet Lou... Take your time." He said and kissed me again before getting up and saying he had to get going. 

 "What are you going to say?" Linda asked once he left. "I don't know..." I said and she smiled. "I know you want to say yes..." She whispered and I smiled. "Yeah I do... But I don't know if he will ever pull it off." I said and she smiled. "I know Harry, and I know for a fact he will do just that." She said and hugged me. I offered if she wanted to stay over tonight, and she agreed, helping me make dinner for when the girls get home. The proposal running through my mind the whole time and it brought a small smile to my face at the thought...
