Jill's alarm went off. Another day of hard work ahead of her. Her morning routine didn't feel as automatic as it had since she arrived in Forget-Me-Not Valley. Smiling while putting her hair up, Jill remembered the fun she had the night before with Celia and Vesta. Marlin was kind of distant, but he had pointed out how great Jill's painting was on some of the pots.
In the middle of her applying sunblock on herself, Takakura knocked on the door. "Come in!" Jill yelled. They both established a routine around this time in the morning to fill each other in on who did what that day with the farm work.
After going over their game plan for the day, he suggested,"It might be a good idea for you to pick up some fertilizer from Vesta's today. I will take care of Mary and get more fodder ready for her. I think it is important that you learn how to take of crops better for now."
After some time, the morning meeting ended, Jill stretched feeling positive. She would most likely need to help out with bringing the fertilizer over, so she most likely wouldn't get much time alone with Celia. But it is always nice being near her.
As Jill made her way to the neighboring farm, Vesta saw her crossing the bridge and invited her over. They started talking about business first. After ordering the fertilizer and arranging to have it delivered that day, they started talking about the highlights of their get together that night before.
Jill was about to say goodbye when Vesta said,"I am happy Celia found a friend here in the valley. She is really shy and has a hard time relating to others. I haven't seen her as happy as she has been lately in while. Thank you for helping Celia come out of her shell,"
She didn't know how to react,"Celia is a good person, I am glad I can do that for her. Honestly, she does the same for me. I always had a hard time relating to people too, and I was nervous about this whole farming thing, but the feelings are mutual, and she has taught me so much in this short period of time so far," Jill said slightly embarrassed.
Vesta smiles and changes topics,"Hey, while we get that order ready and delivered for you, you might want to get a fishing rod today. Van the salesman is coming into town again today, he sells them." Jill with a confused look asks why. Vesta replies "Some of the other villagers here also fish a lot in the river. It might be a good way to make a little extra money too," "Thanks for the tip Vesta!" "You are always welcome here, don't forget that!"
Jill saw a man in red walk down the same path as her on her way to the market. "Um, hello are you Van?" she asked nervously. "Yes, I am I don't believe we met," After introducing themselves, Van mentioned, "I normally don't do this, but do you have a fishing rod yet?" Jill shook her head no, "Well, I normally wait to set up shop to sell..."
After buying her new fishing rod, Jill decides to try Vesta's advice, since she had some waiting to do anyway. Van had recommended fishing at the waterfall as a good spot. Before she knew it she was fishing while the waterfall misted her. Refreshing.
Some time passes, Jill started to get bored while waiting for a bite and her mind wanders. 'Am I I bad at this? It is going to be worth it later though. Maybe I shouldn't sell them and instead, make sushi. I don't know yet, but that sounds delicious right now.'
Finally a bite! One hit, two hit, thre-- GUUU~ went her stomach and the fish was gone. Determined to catch something Jill continues.
Vesta was taking inventory of the amount of fertilizer needed while Celia was getting a cart ready. "Auntie Vesta, are we almost done? I need some water," "Sure, go get yourself as much as you need, almost done anyway,"
Celia went to their cabin and drank 2 cups of water. She couldn't wait to see Jill again. She felt bad that she had missed her earlier, but at least Vesta was letting her help while Marlin was in town for the day. Smiling she finished another glass of water before headed back out.
Opening the door to their work building, Vesta looked at her and smiled and teared up, "Auntie Vesta, are you ok?" "I'm fine. Celia you have really grown up so much these past few years, you are like a daughter to me,"
Celia was taken aback and hugs her, "Aww, I promise you'll always be my Auntie Vesta, no matter what!" "Thank you, Celia, Just don't grow up too fast," The two hug and Vesta says after a minute, "Well, we have work to do, ready to help?" "Of course!"
After the fertilizer was ready for the short trip over, the two directed the cart to prevent any accidents. Vesta asked her what was on her mind, "Celia, how do you feel about Jill?" Celia blushed and her mind went a few places she didn't want to mention but she said,"She is a really good friend, and we get along really well, and have so many similar interests and-" "You sure that's it?"
Celia started to cry a little and admitted,"No, I have a crush on her. I don't know if she feels the same but I didn't know how you and Marlin would react so I didn't say anything," "Celia, I have always known that you like girls. I'm not closed minded. Besides, I see how you are around girls. I always expected to see you come home with a girl. Just be true to you and bloom into yourself, not into how others want you to be,"
Happy that she had her support, she tears up even more,"Thank you so much, I-" "Shhh Celia it's ok, let me clean you up a little," Vesta wiped away her tears and straightened out her hair. "Celia you will always have my support,"
Jill walked onto her farm very disappointed at her day of fishing. Her stomach had betrayed her. All day.. At least Celia might be there later to make up for it. Imagining her face, her doll-like eyes, she fangirled despite the hunger.
Walking onto her farm, the night sky greeted her. Jill had never seen the night sky so beautiful outside of storybooks before moving here. "Hi, Jill!" Celia waved. Jill wanted this moment to last forever.
"Hi Celia, where's Vesta and the fertilizer?" She asked looking around. "Oh Takakura helped us put it all away in the tool shed, I hope that was alright," Celia smiled as she played with her sleeves slightly. 'If I didn't know any better, I would think that she was into me too,' Jill blushed at the thought.
They have a cute silence and then Celia breaks it,"Um Jill, I have to use the restroom, do you mind if I use yours?" "Oh I don't mind, go right ahead! Let me find my key..." At some point when she was unlocking the door for her she remembered one of the last boxes she was unpacking... It hit her like a train ... 'Oh no... I need to hide all that yuri manga and those pillows cases fast. Maybe I am being paranoid, but if she sees some of the things I am willing to spend money on, she will never speak to me again...'
The door unlocked and Celia rushed straight to the restroom, not even noticing the contents of the box closest to the end table. Good. Jill tried to get everything inside since some manga was on that end table, 'No wonder I never have friends for long, I would cringe at myself too,'
Trying to be quick and thorough as she heard Celia washing her hands, making her way to the closet by the bathroom. About to make it to the closet door, Celia opened the door and bumped into Jill.
"I am so sorry Jill, I-" Jill looked like a kid with her hand in the cookie jar... No way around this one. Celia confused looked down in the box and her face went red hot at the lewd things in that box. Celia didn't know how to react.. They had the same fetishes...
'Well this is it, there goes our friendship,' 'Jill's eyes started to get blurry at that thought. She cried and dropped down to her knees. "Please.. Don't hate me," Celia shocked at what she said got down next to her and wiped her tears away and smiled. "You.. don't hate me?"
"No! In fact... We are so much more alike than you realize Jill," Celia said with a loving embrace.
