Chapter Three- Hope or Despair?

Chapter Three- Hope or Despair?   

  After gathering the supplies they needed, they quickly took off toward the kingdom with Dan and Anthony in the lead

    Once they arrived, they gasped in shock at the view of the once beautiful kingdom which now are in ruins.

  They made their way in and notice the bodies sprawled around injured or dead with their weapons in hand or next to their loved ones. Dan then looked at Anthony and smiled kindly "you have asked us for help, so then be it lead us what can we do to help"

  Anthony's eyes widen, he was shocked we was just merely an adult "why are you helping me?"

  "You have done so much for us the least we can do is help"  Dan then chuckled "I remember when you were little so young and full of life. I believed you were about five or six, and tried helping the older ones. Oh you were so eager and your helmet was too big for your head now look at you," Anthony blushed deep red at that "You are a soldier arnt you? Leading the players to safety sweaeing to protect them at any cost. So, lead us" Anthony look at the other player which were smiling and nodding their heads

  "Oh- well okay then" Anthony cleared his throat "you may put your stuff down"

  Anthony stopped and counted them down and seperated into three different groups, "Group A- Find survivors and bring them here" he said to the group on the left which nodded and went straight to work. "Group B- You may help by nursing those survivors to health" He said to the group in the middle which nodded too and quickly went off to unpack their supplies eager to help.

   "And finally.. Group C- all of will find the ..dead ones" anthony said griefly, "and settle them down over there" he continued pointing towards an empty field which used to be where their farm was but now destroyed

    They went to work straight away, Anthony then looked at a group where he didnt pick to be inside group A, B or C.

   All of them looked strong enough for this job "So the rest of you- Including Dan, you will help me search within the castle. Im pretty sure all of you are strong enough to lift rocks?"

   "Why are we searching within the castle? Shouldnt they all have evacuated?" One of them asked

   "Not all," Anthony said griefly "theres a chance the queen is still alive along with her baby"

Gasps erupted, "how?" Some asked

  "I was the one that informed them of the attack which king Nicholas went straight for battle whislt queen Eleanora went to find her baby" Anthony paused "The monsters were spawned at the entrance along with them" Anthony spat out 'them' with alot of hatred

  "I Figured that she probably saw the monsters spawning or someone informed her she would of ran back into the castle to go to the underground tunnels which led to a cave deep within the forest into a cave" Anthony took another deep breathed, "I was just near her fighting off some zombies and spiders and two creepers- when she ran into the castle and probably into the throne room then like a minute or so the two creepers probably sensed her sneaking back in the castle and well, searched for her and exploded. Theres a possibility she hid somewhere shes rather smart"

   "Anthony, boy, it was not your fault it was destined to happen. You cant change fate" Dan said looking at Anthony in sympathy who is beating himself up for everything

  Soon they reached the castle. "Okay, so five players search at the left the other five search on the right" The boy instructed

    They looked around for 10 minutes and found atleast six players they are either a guard or one of the royal maids hidden in a room or unconcious somewhere.

   Suddenly Anthony heard a sound a wailing of a baby emmiting from somewhere nearby. The only place they havent searched was the throne room. Anthony slapped his hand to his forehead, "Dan- I think .. theres someone alive in there" that immediatly got Dans' attention.

   They burst through the door to see pillars that crashed down and pieces of the roof was in the middle of the throne room creating a pile of stone. The rest soon came in as the sound of a baby came put again. Their eyes widen in surprised, nobody could possibly survive in this mess- definitely not a mere child.

   They pushed off a huge piece of stone and saw a hand. If it was possible their eyes got wider hope filled in Anthony's eyes ereasing all the despair

   They dug in more and saw a womenly figure hunched over something,or someone and layed lifelessly. Her pale arms wrapped protectively around a gold coloured bundle. They pushed her so she isnt hunched anymore and leaned her against a pile of stone and they pushed down the blanket a bit to see a face of a baby.

   They baby cried louder and Dan picked him up and cradle trying to make him stop crying.

  Dan turned around to see two people surrounding the women and the rest holding torches to see better in the darkness. One had his hand on her chest and two fingers under her nose and the other was holding her wrist his head on her chest trying to find any possibility that she may have survived any pulse or signs of life

  They let her go and looked Dan and Anthony in the eyes and shook their heads signalling she is not with us anymore.

   Then the rest except Anthony realised she was the queen. She was very beautiful indeed with her slightly flawless tan now pale skin her brown curly hair sat beside her shoulder and her golden dress made her look more emchanting.

    Dan had seen her eyes once full of life before, He remembered those beautiful kind amber eyes specked with gold flecks. Dan had thought of her as a daughter- sadly her father had passed during battle trying to save her and her mother so Dan became her father figure instead.

   "This is the baby of the king and queen, Dan" All of them were shocked there is hope of this kingdom - or is there?

    The baby soon re-opened his eyes and everyone looked, he had his fathers dark chocolate brown eyes mixed with hazel-ish, amber-ish.

   "He looks like his mother" Anthomy said. "And he will grow up to look like his father" Dan added, everyone nodding their heads

  "Does that mean he's the descendant of Notch and the heir of the throne" Anthony asked out of curiosity.

   "Well, my boy, yes and do you see any other son or daughter of the king and queen laying anywhere around?" Anthony blush and shook his head, "no".

    They watched as the child trying to bite on Dan's hand but failed miserably since he had no teeth at all, Poor boy probably starving. Dan thought and they quickly got back to where the rest were at. All of them stopped what they were doing and rushed to see what Dan was cradling into his arms

   "Maria" He called put to one of the villagers

'Maria' came out of the croud of players "yes Dan?" She replied. Maria was in her twenties or thirties but she she looks rather young with her long blonde hair and blue eyes full of life and happiness.

    "Please, feed the baby. Poor child probably starving" Dan said as he handed the baby to her care. She happily took him, walking away cooing at how adorable he is.

  After they were sorted out. They placed queens' body next to the king.

  Soon all the injured or unconcious survivors woke up and we traveled back to the village which let the Skylight kingdom stay for awhile until they can get back up on their own.

   1 Week Later..

   All of them managed to heal faster than expected with the amount of healing potions given to them they will be back to normal in no time. But unfortunately some of them fell into a coma nothing too serious.

   Meanwhile, the ones that have recovered decided to slowly rebuild their kingdom but this time, much, much stronger defences and instead of using wood they used alot more stronger materials this time
