Request: hii, could you please write a rashford request where the reader, is his girlfriend and she goes with him to russia to support him at his first world cup. thank you x

You technically weren't supposed to be here but, you were. You were supposed to be at home studying for the final of the summer class that you were taking. At least, that was what you had told your boyfriend, Marcus, anyway. The reality of it was that you had finished the class online and so your finals were already over. You had lied because you had wanted to surprise him at the first match that England played in the World Cup.

Your plan had landed only a few hours ago and so you hadn't had any time to freshen up. You had just checked into your hotel room, set your luggage down, and then left to go to the stadium to watch England's match against Tunisia. You had wanted to change your clothes into an England jersey with your boyfriend's name on the back, however, you just hadn't had the time.

You had had to settle for wearing a pair of blue jeans with rips at the knees and a beige colored full-sleeved shirt. Along with that, you had worn a pair of blue vans, which were your favorite ones. Making sure you had grabbed your phone and purse, you left to go get a taxi and to the stadium. This was England's first match in the 2018 World Cup and you wanted to be there to support them. You wanted to be there to support your boyfriend.

You were really excited throughout the whole match, even if Marcus wasn't in the starting line-up. However, when he got subbed in at the sixty-eighth minute, you could help but slightly bounce in your seat from the excitement. You knew that he must feel good as well, finally getting a chance to play at such a big stage. It was a huge deal for his career. You were so proud of him.

When the final whistle blew at the ninety-fifth minute you, like many other England fans, got up out of your seat to cheer for the team. England had won their first match of the World Cup, with two goals from Harry Kane, and had proven that they were going to be a tough competitor this year. You couldn't help but feel so proud as you watched your boyfriend celebrating with his teammates down on the pitch. They had put themselves in a better position to advance to round of sixteen.

As you watched him celebrate you couldn't help but feel happy because he was happy. You knew what a big deal it was to him, to be selected to be a part of England's team in the World Cup. To him, it was an honor to represent his country. Words couldn't be used to describe how proud of him you were.

While the other members of the audience began to clear out the stadium, you stayed where you were. You had come to surprise your boyfriend and so, you wanted to do that. For that, you had to wait. The only person that you had told about your plan to surprise Marcus was Jesse Lingard, a friend of both yours and Marcus'. Jesse had promised you that he would help you by bringing Marcus back to the pitch after the crowd had mostly left the stadium. With most of the people gone, you knew it wouldn't be long now before you could finally see your boyfriend.

You weren't wrong. Not long after that you saw the both of them walking out of the tunnels. They were no longer sweaty and in their kits, so you assumed that they had both probably taken a shower. You could tell by the look on his face that Marcus was confused as to why Jesse was dragging him out of the locker room. Usually, they went from the locker room directly to the bus and then the hotel. He still hadn't seen you yet.

"Mate, where are we going?"

Jesse didn't answer his question. He just continued leading him over to where you were. Marcus still hadn't seen you, but Jesse could tell when that all changed. When his eyes landed on you sitting in your seat in the stands, Marcus froze in his spot. He couldn't believe his eyes. You were in front of him. A part of him felt like this was a dream, but when Jesse nudged him with his elbow he snapped out of it. This was reality. You were truly there, in the same place as him and not at home where he thought you were.

Leaving his friend behind, Jesse ran over to the stands to where you were. He hoped the barriers in the field with ease and before you knew it, he was standing in front of you. You hadn't realized it but during sometime while he was running over to you, you had stood up from your seat.

As soon as he got near you, without saying anything, he wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you into the tightest hug. He was almost squeezing the life out of you, but you didn't mind. It felt nice. You would think that the both of you had been separated for years with the way that he was hugging you, but in reality, you had only been separated for a few weeks. However, he wasn't the only one. You held onto him just as tightly as he was hanging onto you, squeezing him just as tightly as you could.

It felt good to be back in his arms and so you were in no hurry to let go. It seemed that neither was he because the two of you stood like that for a solid couple minutes. When the need for air became a necessity that you couldn't do without, you finally broke the hug. Both of you had matching grins on your faces. It would have been obvious to any on looker that you were happy to see each other.

"What are you doing here? I thought you had finals to study for. Did you watch the whole match, or did you just get here? How come you didn't tell me you were coming? When did you tell Jesse?"

Marcus asked question after question and so, you cut him of before he could ask you anymore. You smashed your lips onto his and wrapping your arms around his neck, pulled him as close to you as you could. Marcus happily gave up asking any question. He chose instead to wrap his arms around your waist and deepen the kiss. The two of you stood making out in the middle of the stadium.

Realizing that this was a public place, you pulled away from your boyfriend, your face slightly flushed. He chuckled seeing you like that. It was then that you decided to answer all the questions that he asked.

"I'm here because I lied to you about the final. I wanted to surprise you, so I told you that I had the final when in reality, I was planning on coming here all along to support you. I told Jesse because I needed help meeting up with you and so he agreed to help me. Pulling you out of the locker rooms was totally his idea though. I was going to meet you at your hotel, but he said it was better to do it this way. I did watch the whole match, by the way. Congratulations on winning. You guys played amazing today."

He pulled you into another hug this time burying his face into your neck.

"I'm so happy to see you. You have no idea. I would have been okay with having to talk through the phone and everything, but it feels so much better knowing that you're going to be here in person to support me."

Marcus' words were slightly muffled, but you could understand them anyway. You also couldn't help but agree with him. You would have been supporting him and England even if you had been at home, mostly through a television screen, but it did feel different actually being in Russia and being there to support him.

"You guys are going to do great. I can feel it."

His arms wrapped tighter around you. You closed your eyes and leaned into him, taking in the scent of your boyfriend after not having had it for weeks. He smelled like home to you. There is a saying that home is where the heart is, and your heart was here with Marcus. Therefore, your home would also be where ever Marcus was. For the next few weeks, that meant, your home was going to be in Russia.

Yup, you had a good feeling about this World Cup. You felt like England was going to go far this year. You were just happy that you could be with your boyfriend, supporting him, while it all happened. No matter what the final results you would always support him. After all, you were his biggest supporter.

A/N: It's a bit shorter than normal but I hope you like it. Any kind of feedback is appreciated.
