The buzzing sound of my ringtone filled my ears causing me to awaken from the blissful sleep.

After laying there in my cocoon of blankets, trying to fall back asleep I slowly move like a slug to sit up and pick up my phone from the table top beside my bed.

Hey

I reread who the text was from and surprisingly it was from Jen. So I replied,

What's up ?

Minutes later I got a reply,

Nothing. So what happened to you at the party ? I lost you.

Really ? Because you left with out me.

I laid in bed for another hour. Still no reply from Jen yet so I decided to get ready for work. Just then my phone buzzed,

The cops showed up, I didn't know what to do

I mutter some curse words under my breath and throw my phone back onto my bed and stripped from my cloths to shower. If I didn't move my ass I'll be late for work.

Turning the hot water on I'm dreading this day already. Not because I don't love my co-workers. I do love them. But the customers are what I hate. You'd think that people who come to a coffee shop are just business people or locals. The guys are douchers, and for some reason the girls are so rude. One time a girl just a little older than me, decided that she'd accuse me of spitting in her food. So what if I flirted with her boy friend. It's not like I was secretly undressing him my in my mind. I almost got fired and she was happy.

I hop out of the shower and wipe the mirror of the fog. Inspecting my face I see a little red dot beginning form just slightly off to the side of my chin on the left. Good thing Dr.Frasic is on speed dial. I reach across the sink and grab the can of Aussie. I put some in my hands and tousle the moose in my hair.

Reentering my room I head over to my closet for my work uniform. You could say it's cute. It's mustard yellow to match the sign outside, with red around all the hem lines. It comes down about half way on my thighs.

As I pull my auburn locks into a high pony tail I put on my name tag, Kira Hepburn.

I grabbed my phone and wallet full of bus tickets because my dad refuses to buy me a car, and exit my room. I head left passing my dad's bedroom door, who is still sleeping.

Make a right turn and head down the stairs. I make my way to the kitchen and head towards the fridge. I open it up and surprise there's no food except expired mayo, one bagel and three and half beers. I take out the bagel and pop it into the toaster.

Just then I see my dad moving slower than a sloth come towards me. He's in a white t-shirt and checkered boxers. His slippers are too small so his feet so the heels stick out over the back.

I go to turn away from him but he wraps an arm around my shoulders and kisses the top of my head. This is the dad I know and love and miss.

"Morning," I say.

He sits at our little four person wooden dining table and says, "what's for breakfast?" "As if dad. I have work and you need to go grocery shopping if you want food." My bagel pops up so I grab it, side step towards my dad and peck him on the cheek. He looks down and says, "okay see you after." I turn on my heels and move towards the front door.

Gladly I'm blessed enough that the bus stop is right in front of my house and work is only a 10 minute bus ride.

Waltzing into work I head to the back. I'm late but it's okay because Al knows me all too well. He's a little more than just over weight but his sweet personality makes up for it.
