Past/Scene 1.......the only one
(The alternate story of the ugly duckling)
Once upon a time, there was a boy who was born into the royal family. Now I know what you're thinking, isn't this about the ugly duckling?
Well, in this universe, the duckling is actually this boy and he wasn't exactly ugly either. But his path on this journey is very similar to the mentioned character from the children's tale of old.
Anyways you know the story, this boy was the prince of Domino and the kingdom of Sparks. But now let's change it into the ugly duckling setting shall we?
Many years later, this boy wanted to see the world. And so he had gotten permission from his parents to temporarily leave his duties and see the universe for himself.
As a member of the royal family, he was tested to see if whether or not he should embody his world's power alongside his sister, a test of which he passed much to the surprise of others.
Despite this however, the boy could only harness the very basics of his power as he could not alter it in the same way his sister could, due to her destined fairy heritage. As such, his attacks were without any names and they were like the basic shots of a normal magic user performing a defending act.
During his travels, he encountered his sister's race, the fairies. He was intrigued by them, their big and colorful wings, their different outfits and their superior power fascinated him. When he approached them, he asked if whether he could accompany them on their journey, although wary eyed and doubtful...they allowed it.
And so wherever the fairies went, the boy would follow. Of course, it was difficult for him. For example, whenever they came across a swamp, the fairies could avoid it easily due to their wings...flying themselves over the swamp and avoid getting dirty. For the boy however, he had to take the direct route and traverse through the thick and difficult swamp which also threatened to swallow him whole.
Some of the fairies began picking on him for this and the boy naturally felt sad. He was just so different from them and yet he wanted to be like them. Everything they could do, all of it was useful. And they were all so pretty and beautiful, everyone was swayed by them and in love with them. He knew there were such things as the pretty boys but there was no possible way that they could beat these fairies. Everyone who saw him all wondered why he was following the fairies around as he was the clear odd one out of the group.
The breaking point came when a strong enemy appeared and the boy couldn't defend himself at all. Try as he might, all of his basic attacks had no effect on the creature and he wasn't physically strong enough to handle this beast either. To his relief, a single fairy stepped in and easily handled the situation.
However, his performance had already left its mark. The fairy that saved him soon told him to get lost and to be quick about it. The others soon agreed and didn't want the excess baggage anymore. Even though the boy tried to follow them, they would all magically force him back and told him that this was for his own good. For the final time, they told him to get out of their sight and that he could never do the things they could.
The boy sadly watched the fairies fly away until it was just him left, he was now all alone....just as it once was in the beginning. Shoulders shaking, he began crying and sadly turned around. He soon walked away from everything. He began wondering where he really belonged in this world or if whether he would be of use to anybody.
He soon found a cave and decided to spend the night there. Upon reaching the entrance however, he soon discovered that he wasn't alone. There were witches in there as well and they were all near a cauldron.
The boy soon walked towards them and the witches were also quite skeptical of him but they allowed him to observe since he wasn't doing anything. A few of them were thinking of using him as a test subject which apparently earned the approval of the other witches but the boy didn't know of this.
Suddenly thinking he knew what to do, the boy grabbed an ingredient that looked important and threw it into the mixture that was inside the cauldron. The witches all shrieked and yelled no but it was too late. Soon an explosion took place and everyone inside the cave got blown out.
All of the witches angrily glared at the boy and began throwing hexes at him. Quickly running away, he barely managed to escape and get o safety. Sadly sighing to himself, he wasn't even able to help out the witches and ended up making things worse. If his place wasn't with them, then where was it?
As his journey continued, the boy met with more and more rejections. Everything he did, the fairies could do better because they were there. Getting rejected by everyone once again, all the boy could do was to walk away from everything.
Without realizing it, months had passed and the boy had decided to return home. He was also a completely different person at this point, his heart was now dark and the desire for vengeance was embedded deep in his head.
Upon returning home, he was immediately greeted by his mother who embraced him tightly and with tears in her eyes. Soon it was followed by his father and then his sister. His sister, although one of them, she did not display the eyes that the other fairies had given him.
After getting embraced by all of his family members once more, the boy began sobbing and happily cried. He smiled, all this time...he went on a journey to see the world and to find his place in it. When in fact, his place....was right here all along.........and for the first time in a long time......he was truly happy.
Once again, the months had passed and the boy's sister was recognized worldwide as a major contributor to society for her actions against the darkness. Meanwhile, her brother could only watch from the sidelines as his sister continued doing the things he couldn't do. The things that only a fairy was capable of.
The boy had now grown into a fine young man and he had matured both inside and outside quite considerably. Yet despite this however, he still felt unwanted and that would forever haunt him. A single tear escaped his eye as he soon walked away.
Taking the path towards the nearby lake, he did not know that the power within within him was resonating with his desire to do so much more. In fact, the boy was so upset with himself that he did not realize he had.....changed, he didn't notice his new long hair, he didn't notice his new outfit or his gloves and he didn't even realize that he was walking barefooted even though technically he wasn't because of the barefoot sandals.
Upon reaching the lake, he could only sigh when he saw the fairies hovering above it. It seems that this spot was already taken. Gathering some courage, the boy soon walked towards the lake in order to get some fresh water to drink. But the moment he got to the lake's edge, he saw his reflection in the lake's waters and soon realized...that he wasn't exactly a he anymore.
Staring right back at her was a beautiful red headed girl, her decorated red hair was a sight to behold. Just like the fairies, she too had her own beautiful outfit, a lovely pink dress and it was beautiful enough to match its owner. The girl finally realized and felt the pink gloves that were covering her arms. She had also finally realized that her shoes were gone and it was replaced with pretty barefoot sandals. Together with her dress, it only further empathized her attractive legs and feet.
But perhaps the biggest surprise were the big and colorful wings on the girl's back. Slowly fluttering them for the first time, she could feel the power of her wings, like it could handle anything and allow her to fly without any problems at all. It's design also captivated her and they were truly beautiful butterfly wings.
Soon the girl's sister appeared next to her and at first she didn't know who this new fairy was. It took a while for the girl to explain to her sister that she was her brother, the boy from earlier. Only this time, the brother was now a sister and one of the fairies.
Smiling and holding hands, the two fairies soon fluttered their wings and flew off to join the others who were happily observing the lake from above.
