As I walked out I tried to put as much distance from me and this girl name 'Lina' I could hear her calling out for me. But I didn't care I just wanted to get to class and get the day over and done with, so while walking I pulled them out and put them in my ears to listen to some music while I try and find my next class. After putting my phone away I bump into a tall, hard figure. As I began to fall backward I feel these warm comforting arms secure themselves around my waist.
"So sorry" I yelled. I couldn't help but notice that the guy I ran into was tall, with short black hair and really cute brown eyes.
"Hey new girl, hope you know what you're doing when you try to get my attention," He said as a small grin formed on his face. Just from the way he talked I could tell that this guy was really cocky and one of the popular kids.
"Um Excuse Me???" I said really loudly " I don't know who you are, but you must be a really huge jerk if you think I was pulling a stunt to get your attention" Just like his grin faded away and a look of anger was replaced in his eyes, I don't think he's been called names to his face by the now intimidating expression on his face.
"Oh really now, what's your name new girl," He said with a deep tone.
"My name?" I said in a questioning voice "Whatever you want to call me, it's not a big deal and I would prefer to keep myself a mystery to you and your goons" I said looking at the three other muscular guys standing behind him now looking at each other with an amused look.
Just as I was starting to walk away he turned around and grabbed my wrist quite harshly. "Feisty I like that in a girl, I'll call you tiapolo then until I somehow find out your real name"
I shrugged and pulled my hand away quite forcefully, this time he let go and I walked away from him and his annoying friends to my next class which was p.e. As I walked away I couldn't help but keep thinking about what I had just done. I knew his type was the popular bad boy in the school and now I had just ruined any chance that I had to keep myself invisible from the drama.
After I had finished getting changed I walked into the gym to see everyone getting put into teams to play volleyball. As I continued to walk up to the teacher I started to notice that everyone was watching me every step I took and people whispering. Once I had approached the teacher I waited for him to turn around and notice me. When he did I noticed that he had dark green eyes, a nice tan and was really tall, that's when I recognized that I had met him before at my grandmothers' church a couple of Sundays ago.

"Ahh Leilani nice to meet you again, care to explain why you are five minutes late to class," He asked suspiciously raising a brow. It was quite easy to tell he was not impressed that I was late to my first class on my first day of school.
"Sorry Mr. Kingi, my meeting with the principal went a little longer than expected and I got a bit lost in trying to find my way here" I couldn't help but lie if I had told him that I ran into a jerk he wouldn't believe me.
"All right that's acceptable but next time I expect you to be here on time, for now, you can go join Mone's team. Mone!" He shouted to the guy named mone that I recognized to be one of the goons who I had a run-in within the hallway earlier.
"Yes, sir?" His voice wasn't as deep as his friend, he had short black hair like the rest of the boys, light brown eyes with hazelnut specks in them and a tattoo that was on his right arm.
"I would like to introduce you to Leilani, Leilani this is Mone. He will show you how the basics of volleyball and you will be in his team" He said in a serious tone. I could see a small smirk forming on his face after he found out my real name and I knew that this wasn't going to be good.
"Actually Mr. Kingi, I already know how to play volleyball I played for New Zealand in the U18 comp and could I PLEASE be in the opposite team," I said dragging out the, please. As I said this could see that Mone was shocked and quite impressed by my completions.
"Alright, Leilani I'll let you join the other team for today. You two may go" He said as he started walking away from us.
"So... the new girl has a real name," He said with an amused tone. "Can't wait to tell Jayden what your real name is. He'll be happy to find out" Just as he finished talking one of the girls with light brown hair, green eyes and a warm comforting smile approached us giving the guy a warm smile and a quick peck on the check.
"Hey my names Veta," She said in an innocent, warm and friendly voice. "And this is my annoying boyfriend as you've already been introduced," She said humorously.
"Hey," He said in a sad tone as she playfully messed his hair up.
"Hi, My names Leilani. It's nice to meet you Veta" I said offering my hand to shake hers. Which she then took and pulled me into her, giving me a hug. I was shocked but soon I recovered and hugged her back.
After some introduction with a few of the others in my p.e class, we started the game of volleyball. Mone served and Veta dug into the air to another girl who then told me to spike. I did as told and gave us a point already.
I was enjoying p.e as the competition was better here than back in New Zealand. Things started to get interesting when the boys were hogging the ball in between them. Just as they started to do this Mone decided to start calling me in front. Soon enough I had gotten sick of him calling me out that when I saw the opportunity. He thought I was about to hit the ball to another guy but got a surprise when I hit it towards him quite hard.
