I walked into the room. It was a really warm greenhouse that the Old Lady was staying in. The greenhouse was something that I wasn't used to. There were all these exotic tropical flowers around.
Micki turned to me, "She's in there."
"You not coming?"
She shook her head, "She doesn't want to see me. She wants to see you."
Micki turned and walked away closing the door to the greenhouse behind her. I looked up at the sun beaming over the greenhouse. The rays of the sun came right through the glass and into the clear room. It was a beautiful room but I couldn't really get into it. My allergies were going f***king crazy the entire time I was in there.
I walked to the back of the room.
"Hello?"
I didn't hear anyone or see anyone. As I walked through I started sneezing at all these exotic plants around me. I walked towards the back and made my way to see the biggest plant that I'd ever seen.
The plant seemed to be...moving...
There was no wind coming into the greenhouse. It was swaying almost talking. The plant looked like a swollen balloon with colorless platches around it.
Its roots were moving getting closer...closer...closer to me...
Then all of a sudden I felt grabbed and pulled!"AH!"
I jumped out of reach but realized it wasn't the plant at all that grabbed me. It was the Old Lady. She stood there not even hitting 5'0. Her face showed old age but not nearly the age she really was. She looked at me with these dragging blank eyes. Her skin seemed to be barely holding onto the bones any longer. She was such a scary sight really. It was unsettling to see something that old still clinging to life so desperately.
"Be careful," she said, "That plant was grown to kill..."
"What is it?" I asked.
"The Cobra Lily," she said her mouth twisting up, "A dangerous carnivore. Of course they don't get that big in nature. I never cared for how nature made things though. Tea?"
"No I'm fine."
"You'll drink tea," she persisted.
I followed her to a small table in the middle of this place. I could feel myself almost giving into my allergies and running out of here by the time we were at the table. I sat at the table across from her and crossed my arms.
"So why are you here Genesis?" she asked me.
You had a very stern voice. You could tell she was wise. She had been around forever.
"Uh...you asked me..."
"That's not why you are here. I've asked you to come several times and you never did."
"I want your help stopping my brother," I said, "I'm sure you know that he is trying to a spell. His spell requires the sacrifice of witches from the other families."
She sipped on her tea.
I just looked at it. Every part of me didn't want to sip the tea but I just did it just so that she would stop giving the tea this death look.
"Why would I do that?" she asked me.
Her question almost made me laugh.
"Um, didn't you just hear what I said? Exodus is going crazy and trying to sacrifice people in the five families. Your descendants. It's the spell..."
She shrugged.
Her shrug was SO slow and so dramatic. My mouth almost dropped open when she did it.
She didn't give a f***k.
"All magic takes sacrifice in one way or another. More tea."
"No I'm not even done with this tea," I said shaking my head, "You may not be understanding me. He is going to kill off your descendants."
"Isn't immortality worth it?" she asked.
"No...absolutely not. It's immoral. It's evil."
"Magic has nothing to do with morality," she explained, "I think it's necessary. I called you over here because your brother came to see me. He wanted you to rethink your decision not to join him. He is willing to share his immortality with you. It was very touching..."
I felt like I was in the twilight zone.
"Listen maybe your ears aren't F***KING comprehending what my brother is trying to do."
She raised an eyebrow.
"Nothing's wrong with my ears...your nose however..."
I hadn't even noticed it. Until I raised my voice at her. My nose was gushing with blood. She pushed a napkin over to me. It was at that moment that I remembered I wasn't talking to any old lady. I was talking to THE Old Lady. The oldest woman alive and the most powerful witch ever...Fatima.
"I'm sorry for raising my voice," I said rubbing the blood off my nose, "Please just understand that I don't want to see people die. Are you ok with Micki, Ja'Dore, Shi Shi and Orion dying?"
"There are more in the five family to take their place."
"Micki and Orion are the last ones in their family line."
She shrugged, "Survival of the fittest. Three families instead of five is not so bad."
She was heartless.
She was F***KING Heartless!
