"I'll take care of him," I said.
"Are you going to make someone stab him?" Micki stated.
"Magic isn't the only way to get what you want," I said.
I got up off the table and headed towards him. He seemed to be almost on edge. I wondered if he noticed the three girls studying me from behind as I approached him. If he did notice them he didn't take any notice really. He was looking me dead in my eyes as I approached him. He had this coldness in him when I approached him. It was this awkwardness.
Truth was I had been waiting to approach him since he put that thing in my drink.
"Are you enjoying your stay here Mr. Ferris?" I asked Orion.
He gave me a halfway look.
"Funny I thought you wanted me gone."
"I think you and I may have just gotten off on the wrong foot. Maybe some sort of misunderstanding," I said.
He looked at me with this suspicious look. He was definitely on edge. It was interesting to know that I could have that effect on someone though. It was interesting to know that I could put him on edge like this. If only he knew the trouble we all had been going through to get him off this island, he'd probably be a lot more cocky. Now he was just...suspicious.
"You look just like your brother," he stated.
It was a coldness.
"I thought you said you didn't know my brother," I said.
He laughed, "I don't. Not intimately. I knew him when we were kids. We used to sit under old lady Fatima's rocking chair. I always thought he was very handsome even then. Of course I never said anything."
"I don't remember you."
"Your parents never brought you around. They said you had a blackness inside of you. It supposedly scared the old lady. Isn't that funny? An old lady being scared of a kid...I wonder why.
I shook my head. It made me uncomfortable talking about my parents. It made me uncomfortable talking about the past when they'd always choose my twin brother for everything. They'd always leave me home alone while they showed him off. This was just another example of that.
"Why don't we stop fucking around?" I said.
He laughed strangly.
"The game was just getting fun."
"You know who I am and I know who you are," I stated, "So let's just cut it out. I want you gone and it's your best interest that you get gone as well. So how about we cut a deal that'll benefit both of us."
He raised an eyebrow. It was one of those eyebrows that made me think he may not be as interested as he was letting on.
"What deal is that?" he asked halfway not even listening.
"How much do you want?"
"Excuse me?"
"How much do you want to disappear off this island and never come back," I stated.
I didn't know how much I had to be honest with you but I'd have to borrow some from the business account. I had to make this guy disappear. It wasn't good to have him here. He didn't belong here.
"I thought you were here to ask me if I killed your brother," he said.
It was a strange question.
"I thought I was on the island to figure that out too," I stated and shook my head, "Funny thing is I found other reasons to stick around. So I'd like you to take your skeletons and get the fuck out of here."
