Staring out of my bed room window admiringly watching the sun rise from the horizon subtle waves of the sea, I can’t hold the temptation any longer I jump out my PJ’s into my blue bikini and shorts, kiss Chris lightly on the head as he lies there fast asleep. I run out the back door, straight through my garden to the gate, smack open the gate to see the peaceful, quiet beach. It’s far too early for anyone to be here, even for a while. I sit myself down onto the smooth sand of the beach as the waves tickle my toes slightly. I wrap my arms around my legs and just watch the perfect, natural view. I love living here in California. Here with my boyfriend Chris, I’m nineteen years old and he’s twenty-one, we’ve been dating for a year. We met when I first moved here from New York, my parents forced me on the beach one day when I saw him surfing the waves, and we’ve been together since. My parents think he’s amazing. That was a year ago, now we are living together and he knew how much I loved the beach so he got a house where the beach is literally on our door step. Everything’s just great.
After a while the beach suddenly flooded with girls all screaming two words ‘The Wanted.’ Out of curiosity, I stand up and shake the sand of my butt before walking over towards them. Some had tshirts displaying their love for ‘The Wanted’ some had note books, some held cameras in the grip of their hands just waiting patiently to turn in on. I pat a girl from a pack who are bouncing off each other over what might happen, laughter filling my ears while excitement and mystery filled the atmosphere. She turns around to reveal ash blonde hair pulled into a ponytail with her ringlets cascading down her back, freckles scattered over her nose.
“What’s going on here?” I ask, in realisation that I’ve got all her friends attention too as they all poke their heads in to hear what I’m saying.
“We’re waiting for The Wanted to come out! They are doing a signing over there across the beach!” She shouts as screams overpower her speech from her friends. I decide not to ask who The Wanted are, because they must be pretty popular to have these many fans. I grab my iphone out my pocket and goggle The Wanted. ‘British boy band The Wanted consists of members Max George, Siva Kaneswaren, Jay McGuiness, Nathan Sykes and Tom Parker. Their most recent single is Glad You Came which is a hit single internationality, sky rocketing around the globe.’ Have I really lived in a hole for years to not know who these guys are?
After a little while, all the girls are screaming and the line is moving forward. Guessing they are here. Deciding to go to the start of the queue just to see what these boys look like I slum my curls of auburn hair into a loose ponytail before walking along the queue of the many, many girls. Eventually reaching the top of the queue I reach five boys, I goggle each one to see what they look like as I can now label each face that is hugging a fan, signing something for a fan, taking pictures, talking and much more. These boys seem alright. As a group of girls leave screaming to themselves I notice curls of hair that is tucked into a beanie apart from the fridge to turn and look over to me. It’s Jay – at least I think. He winks in my direction as more girls ask to hug him, realising what a goon I am just watching from the side lines I attempt to walk away getting my feet trapped in some rope. I collapse on the floor, sand jumping right into my eyes. Unexpectedly, in the corner of my eye I notice Jay jump off the stage, landing next to me. He takes a hand out as I grab it and lift myself up.
“You okay?” A concerned Jay asks as I wipe the sand off of me.
“I’m fine just got some sand in my eyes…” I say fidgeting attempting to get it out of my eyes.
“Hang on,” he mutters wiping his thumb along my eyes which happened to work, “got it.” He laughs.
“I’m Lacey by the way…” I giggle as he shakes my hand.
