Walking into the house out of habit I kicked off my shoes and dropped my backpack to the floor causing a small thud. I let out a sigh of relief that I was finally home.

I low chuckle found its way to my ears and I looked up. My dad was leaning against the wall smiling. For his age he looked extremely young. The only thing that went with his age was his hair. The same color as mines but instead of green streaks they were gray.

"Couldn't wait to do that huh?" He asked me with a bright smile. I just shook my head. "I'm going to run out for a minute you wanna go?"

"Uh no I think I'm gonna hang out here until Donny gets home."

He walked up to me and kissed the crown of my head as he always did. "Make sure you eat something Snow."

I grabbed my shoes and backpack and went up to my room.

My room wasn't huge but it wasn't small either. It was the right amount of space for me. I walked past my mini piano and let my hands glide across the keys on it. I placed my book bag on the other side of my room.

I would forget it was there in about 2 days. Flopping on my king size bed and turned on Netflix. After while I decided to just watch On My Block. I never watched this a day in my life but it got a lot of attention in school.

Well I finished the first season in one day. No wonder this show got a lot of heat. It's a lot going on and gets you on edge. Donny came in awhile ago and watched it with me.

"That show is too much." He complained

"What do you mean?"

"Come on I know teenagers go through a lot but damn they make it seem like hell." I laughed

"Donny it's just tv. It's supposed to have drama and be dramatic."

He got up from the chair he was sitting in and stretched. "Whatever I'm about to order pizza. Want any specific topping?"

"Ham!" My mouth watered at the thought of it. I am in love with ham pizza. He nodded and walked out of my room.

I had my phone on silent while I was binge watching so I grabbed it to see if I had any messages. I got two from Rachel

Rach: hey snow! Party tonight wanna go?

Me: I don't know.

Rach: come on please start the summer off right.

I thought about it. I wasn't doing anything and I didn't have to be at work till 12

Me: Fine what time ?

Rach: I'll pick you up at 8.

I sat my phone down and went downstairs. Dad was sitting on the couch flicking through channels.

"Is it okay if I go out tonight." I asked

"Yeah just don't stay out too late. You have work tomorrow."

"Got it. Tell Donny just to put my pizza up." I said as I walked back up to my room to get dressed.

I looked in the mirror to make sure I looked okay. After about 20 minutes of trying to decide to wear, I found something. My outfit was black leggings and a cream colored v-neck shirt. I slipped on my black wedges and walked downstairs.

Rachel should be here any minute.  When I walked into the living room my brother and dad were talking. But as soon as I walked in they stopped talking and looked at me.

"What?" I asked

"And where are you going?" My brother asked.

"Just out with Rachel."

"Like that?" They both said in unison. I looked down at my attire. I didn't think it was too much.

"What's wrong with what I have on?"

"I prefer you wear a potato sack but whatever." Donny said as he walked into the kitchen. Dad was still looking at me

"If you want me to change I can."

"No no you look nice have fun tonight. Remember don't stay out too late okay?" Like clock work I heard a horn outside.

"I won't be long don't wait up." I walked outside and got into Rachel's Jeep Grand Cherokee.

"Wow you look hot!" She exclaimed. I felt my face heat up

"Thanks you look great too." She had a bright red dress that stopped mid thigh and had on my black heels. Those would be off about 30 minutes into the party.

"Lets go party!" With that she sped off.
