We arrived just while the party was getting good. Kids were everywhere even outside. Some were dancing, eating, or in a corner making out. Yup this is your typical summer party. We walked into a house I've never been in before.
"Who's house is this?" I yelled over the music. She leaned down to my level.
"My friend Luke's I want something to drink." She pulled my arm and we went into the kitchen. Luke must be really wealthy the kitchen was huge hell the whole house was huge. Rachel poured her something into a red cup.
"Don't drink too much okay?" I warned her I didn't need her doing anything she would regret.
"Don't worry I know my limits." She took a sip of her drink.
The party is full swing. People were on the dance floor . My body swayed to the music. I kinda lost track of Rachel awhile ago. But she would text every 20 minutes letting me know she was okay. While dancing I felt a pair of hands on my hips. I jumped a turned around. A blonde hair boy was standing behind me. I rolled my eyes and continued to dance. No need to start a scene we were just dancing.
He kept getting closer to me but I just ignored it. His lips made its way to my ear. "Wanna go upstairs?" His words slurred, he was clearly drunk. I kindly declined his offer. I don't think he comprehended my answer cause he grabbed my arm and lead me upstairs anyway.
"Umm i need to find my friend."
He stumbled towards me and I caught him before he could fall. "You're pretty." He said as he smiled at me.
"Thank you. But you really need to sit down." He looked at me for a minute then held up a finger. I already knew what was gonna happen. I quickly found a bathroom to put him in. As I suspected he threw up barely making it to the toilet.
"Thanks." He mumbled as he wiped his mouth.
"Mhm." I managed to help him stand up
"So is this where you give me your number? I know I'm a little drunk."
I once again felt my face heat up and I couldn't hide it. This is so awkward I hate being in this type of situation.
"Look your very sweet but I uhhh...how do I put this." I stuttered over my words.
"Got a boyfriend ?" He tried to guess.
"No I..." I took a deep breathe. "I don't play for your team." He looked confused until he finally caught on to what I was saying.
"Ohhhh I get it. Well I don't play for my team either." He wiggles his eyebrows and laughed at me.
"If you want we can be friends." I offered.
"Totally after you helped me. I'm Cody." He stuck out his hand and reached for it
"Snow."
"Are you serious? That's a unique name."
"I'm a unique person."
We exchanged numbers and I went to find Rachel. It was time for me to go I still had to get up tomorrow. I finally found her talking to a boy.
"There you are!" She noticed me walking up. "Luke this is Snow, Snow this is Luke."
I gave him a little wave and he gave me a full blown smile.
"Well hello Snow." He said in a flirtatious way. I rolled my eyes
"Can we go I have work tomorrow." She nodded
"Leaving so soon?" Luke asked.
"Some of us have responsibilities unlike you rich boy." Rachel said, she grabbed my hand and we walked out of the house. We got in the car and she started it up
"See that wasn't so bad."
"You're right. A boy tried to hit on me though." I told her
"Did you get his number? Was he cute?"
I bit the inside of my cheek. I totally forgot that Rachel doesn't know that I like girls. We've been friends for so long and I haven't had the courage to tell her. She hasn't said or did anything to make me think she doesn't like gay people. I'm just a little scared that she won't accept me.
"Ummmm yeah I got his number. He's alright I guess but I told him I wanted to be friends." I explained.
"Well that's good enough. Let's get you home snowflake."
Walking into the house everything stood still. I already knew that Donny and dad were sleep by now. I made my way to my room and immediately took off my wedges. My feet were killing me. I didn't even change I just laid on the bed and stared thinking.
I first realized that I didn't like boys in the 9th grade. Yea boys made moves on me but I would always reject. They never sparked an interest for me. I met this one girl in my chemistry class and I grown attached. She was open about it while I on the other hand wasn't sure until she kissed me. That's seal the deal that I did indeed like girls. It felt different and right. I have kissed a boy but like I said it didn't spark anything for me. I honestly didn't enjoy it like I thought I would. I thought maybe I was just weird or something was wrong with me.
I haven't even told my dad but Donny guessed it. He said he knew something was up when I never mentioned a boy or even paid attention to them in that way. At first I was scared that he would judge but he said as long as I'm happy he is too. So basically he is the only one that knows.
I wanna tell my dad but I have a problem with saying it to people I'm very close to. Like Rachel, I wouldn't even know how to bring it up to her. She always talks about double dating with boys and things like that. But all I can think about is how I'm not even attracted to them. I really need to say something because she's starting to really crack down on getting me a boyfriend.
I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I got a text from Cody
Cody: hey you make it home okay?
Me:I should be asking you that. You're the one who was drinking
Cody: lol I am at home my brother through the party.
Me: oh well yeah I made it home thanks for asking.
Cody: No prob. Are you sure you don't wanna date me? I'm a real catch
Me: Goodnight Cody.
Cody: lol night.
I sat my phone on my nightstand and laid back. I set my alarm so I wouldn't oversleep. Turning over on my bed and letting my body relax into the soft covers I let sleep take over.
