1st Magnitude star

Character facts 1

So I'm going to do these types of chapters after a few chapters once in a while. It's basically like a fun chapter with a bunch of jokes and memes.

Initial story:
I wanted to create a character that was very complex. I have a lot of Ocs, ranging from Haikyuu to Yuri on ice to Tokyo ghoul. Although all of my Ocs are well-developed, their personalities were pretty simple and understandable. Apart from my Attack on Titan oc, I longed to create another character with trust issues but also very funny, and therefore Honoka was born.

The reason Honoka does not want friends happened because of something that occurred in her past. I'm not giving it away right now because it's going to revealed later on, but briefly Honoka's 'fake' friend used her and betrayed her. Now she is very cautious and believes that having friends will drag her down, which is very similar to Usagi's problem.

In the story, it develops Honoka's character as she starts off as a very distant person. She has a hard amour and constantly builds walls around her. Even is she happens to let down her walls a bit, she harshly reminds herself to build it back (a saying that she begins to open up but tells herself not to). She acts tough and somewhat meddlesome just to hide the fact that she is very insecure, this is the Honoka I was going for.

Of course she will learn to open up later in the story. She will realize that not everyone is like her friend that left her, and acknowledges that one needs friends to succeed. But that isn't going to happen until...quite a while...

I also made her seem like a savage because she is. Although she doesn't have much opportunities to show off her playful and sarcasticly savage nature, she will be able to in the future.

Secondly, her name. I actually created Honoka a long time ago. Back then me, rockygirlly and Unikitty4ever were still classmates. During lunch we would discuss about our Aikatsu Stars Oc. It was Rockygirlly who created the idea of having an Oc because she was always a big fan of Aikatsu stars, and Unikitty4ever soon followed after because she likes cute things. I only watched Aikatsu stars because their music was very catchy.

Honoka had many names before. Her first name was Miki. But then I realized that name was already taken and after a few more name changes, I decided on Honoka. Honoka's name means Harmony flower. On her last name, I wanted her last name to suit her personality, bold and daring. At that time I was watching World trigger, and a character's last name sparked interest in me. There was a character by the name on Jun Arashiyama and his last name means Storm mountain. I liked the thought of having a storm in Honoka's last name because she was like a storm herself, however I didn't want to completely copy the character so I searched it up and there was another last name with the 'Arashi' (storm) in it. 'Arashine'.
I immediately adored the name because it meant 'Storm sound' and could indicate that Honoka has a very strong voice. Not only that, her last name has the word 'shine' in it and Honoka loves to shine. Her last name is pronounced 'A-ra-Shi-ne'.

Also I want to mention about her brand. I wanted Honoka to be a quirky and 4d girl (before I decided her to be a bit isolated and sarcastic) and her brand was going to be a future-robotic brand. Little did I know that brand was already taken and I settled in for an underwater ocean brand but it just didn't seem Honoka-ish. I ended up doing a space-goddess theme and I don't regret it!

Thirdly, I would like to say how I came up with my story title name, 1st magnitude star. In the world of space, stars are ranked by brightness. A 6th magnitude star would be the dimmest stars in the universe, and 1st magnitude would be the brightest. I got this from the song "Sixth magnitude stars"
