My palms sweated, my heart raced and my knees felt heavy and tight. The game was concluding, all that was left was the trophies and it would be finished. They had a way to make every kid feel special, giving them all a trinket showing them that no matter what, they did a good job. Even when you came in last you did a good job, it showed that no matter in life how you fail you always are rewarded for it. People expected something for nothing, that's why they did nothing so beautifully these days.

The moment could wait no longer; Kenny grabbed my arm whispering the words I dreaded to hear. Let's go, although they seemed so simple it felt like a thousand traps were all set below me and I was about to walk through them hoping I did not set one off. Hoping I could make it to the end with all my limbs.

I tugged on Gray's sleeve giving him a warm hug goodbye, telling him how much fun I had and how proud my nephew had made me. I hugged my dad and mother tightly assuring them I was truly happy with their reunion and gave a quick smile at Mark and Hannah knowing I hated there crazy screwed up fairy tale. I hugged Del and high fived Mj, finally released from all the sunny family time and tossed back into darkness and what really was the real world. I looked back once more at them realizing that if I never saw any one of them again I would probably not feel that great about how I left things.

Kenny kept his hand at my back as we hustled down the bleachers, Lyric ran full speed into my arms, I picked him up hugging him tightly and going on and on about how great he was, and promised to tell Evan all about it. I assured Devan he did a great job and that I would be over for dinner patting her on the arm the nerves taking over at this point and I was ready.

Kenny looked over at me a small smile on his face. I was unsure what was even going through his mind as we were heading to the doors.

"You ready?" He asked extending his hand; I placed mine small and insignificant into his powerful and important one. Gripping it tightly as if he were all I wanted, feeling safe and a tad calm as I drifted almost into the night air. I barely felt like I was walking, everything was starting to shock my senses into a numbness of sorts.

"Do you see them?" I asked instantly as Kenny slowly walked the parking lot, people walking in every direction, the crowd growing larger and making it harder to see a thing. I wished I had decided on heels because then I might have had more of a chance, to see what was coming my way.

"I do." Kenny said. "There watching, they're going to sit back and take it all in like I thought."

I buttoned my jacket as the cold wind shocked my nerves, making my whole body want to recoil out of fear and temperature. Kenny held tight to my arm as we practically speed walked to the car suddenly.

"What exactly is the worst thing about them?" I asked trying to take my mind off what was going on.

"There not afraid to kill someone in public, there not afraid of anything." He said as the car seemed to be only a few feet away.

"Eve!"A voice called out through the crowd, Kenny became rigid nearly crushing my arm.

"Don't answer it's Gray." He said head down hightailing it to the car; I fumbled in my purse for the key. Of course in the times when finding something is so important the key was nowhere to be found. Kenny nearly punched his mirror off the door trying to hold in all the anger.

"You forgot your gloves crazy." Gray said catching up with us, he tossed them at me. I knew it wasn't good, Lyric ran to his side smiling up at me. I barely looked at the two of them feeling a horrible sinking feeling washing over me.
