It had been a month since the destruction of the USS Brell Valk, the crew were still awaiting reassignment and they were going crazy. Jad was Promoted for his actions in buying time for back up, and saving almost all of her crew. Jad felt this was not deserved but accepted it never the less. He would be given the command of the Valk replacement a new class of ship. She would be due in a few days. No body at the base knew what she would be. Jad would get up each morning and go over the reports and then go about for his walk around the station. When one day this would be different as his com badge chirped "Captain Jad please report to ops we have a gift for you" came the voice of the station commander "On my way" Jad replied and then closed the channel. He went to the nearest turbo lift and entered the operations centre of the station. This room was filled with com stations and readouts of ship locations. He walked over to the commander "You wanted to see me sir." the commander looked at Jad and then gestured for an officer to engage the screen and what was shown sent a chill down Jads spine. It was his new Ship a new USS Brell Valk B. The commander handed him a Pad with orders to take command of the new ship and with her Class and specs She is an Odyssey class star ship powered by the most advance warp core and able to saucer separate. This Lady was huge.
Jad was excited to go aboard and look around then select his staff. It was exciting to see what he would be in command of but saddening to know that his old ship was gone, Jad was impressed. "Sir permission to disembark and head over to my new command" he asked "Granted and good luck" came the stations commander. And with that Jad left the station and beamed aboard the new Valk. Jad stepped off the transporter pads and into the corridor escorted by a young ensign that looked familiar she was his tactical officer "you look familiar Ensign have we met before?" Jad asked her "Yes sir you were amongst the team that saved us on a training cruise at the beginning of this war I am ensign Sarah Gates" she said as they went to the nearest turbo lift and made there way to the bridge. When they stepped off the lift Jads jaw dropped. It was cavernous, but functional.
The Bridge has two levels and takes up one third of the upper deck of this great lady. "Ensign this is impressive" Jad muttered "wait until you see the rest of your ship sir" she replied. Jad and ensign Gates walked around the upper level of the bridge each science station was state of the art. The two tactical stations were a thing to behold each controlling a firing arc and the power to the shields. Jad then walked down the stairs to see a large helm and con station, with a engineering station to the starboard side of that section Jad then turned and walked back up the stairs and moved over to what would be his new home the captains chair. "Clear the bridge I have something I need to do" Jad said and the crew left the bridge at once at this point he sat down saying "Hello ship its a pleasure to meet you" this was a tradition amongst captains meeting there new commands for the first time. "captains log first entry of hopefully many. It is with great honour and pleasure I take command of this great lady. She has big shoes to fill of her predecessor. But I am sire she will rise to the occasion. I am now awaiting the arrival of my senior staff and I have desired to ask a friend of mine to be my XO. She would be best suited as she does not take shit from anyone but is a good and Honorable person. Lt Kaylaar and her husband would reside onboard in staterooms as they deserve it."
Jad finally brought the temp bridge crew back to the bridge. As he gets up and goes for a walk around the ship. Ship it was almost the size of the city with a population of that much. Crew and there families. Jad made his way down to engineering, as he entered he was greeted with the massive duel warp cores. One was the primary and the other was the secondary both used at the same time. Both could propel the ship at warp 9.995 but together they could propel the ship at trans warp speeds and cross the milky way in three weeks over 100 years. There was another device Jad was pleased to see a phased cloaking device. "So long treaty and so long empire" he said to himself, he then walked around the reactors and then into the Chief engineers office, and then back out and started to walk the corridors. Were he came across what was the his quarters. He entered it and to say they where huge was an understatement. It was a penthouse. It had the dinning room and spa and even had a small holographic projection system that would be used for a fire place. His and tins new bedroom was huge two king size beds lay connected and the bathroom was also impressive a large bathtub and a large shower closet.
3 weeks had passed since Jad took command of the Valk B, and his senior staff was selected, were finally ready to leave the base. Jad sat in his seat he looked to his First Officer. "Number one are you ready to get back out and teach those bastards a lesson" Jad said to commander Kaylaar "are you kidding. Let show them how war is waged" She said with a smile. "Well alright. Helm ready on thrusters and detach mooring lines" the clicking of the moorings being detached could be heard from inside the ship and the the ships own power came online.
The Valk B was ready to go. "Helm thrusters once clear go to full impulse. Engineering bring both warp cores online and ready to head out to the front line we are going to take back whats ours". The ship began to move, as she cleared the mooring station she went to full impulse hearing out. Everything was so smooth and new. "attention senior staff please come to my ready room. I think its time we get to know each other properly." Jad said over the communication system and was flooded with acknowledgements. Jad and Kaylaar went into the office, Jad sat behind his desk. "Ah Ltcmndr Diver its good to see you. Hows my new Chief engineer going in the new engine room" he said to her as the engineer enters the office. "I'm impressed Captain. "this ship needs two warp reactors to get up to high speed that only one is needed in other ships. A cloaking device and this lady can do what most other ships can do separate" Diver was really pleased to be chief engineer. Then the Chief Medical Officer lieutenant commander Silar a Vulcan female. "Ahhhhh Dr welcome aboard I trust the medical section is up to your standard" Jad said as he gestured her to have a seat. "It is.... adaquit" she said in the usual detached Vulcan way. The ships senior staff was here the Dr also doubled as the science officer. Made a lot of sense to Jad and the admiralty. "OK guys this is just a chance for us to get to know each other two of you I have served with and I know your strengths but Dr Silar tell us about yourself your just of the USS Chesty Puller and I want to know where you are from" Jad asked "I'm volcan but not born on the home world I was born on the USS Enterprise D
