Naomi woke up to the sound of birds, she saw the very light blue rays of the sky. She yawned, (Not enough sleep as always....) She sat up and adjust her eye patch, (I had to leave me pillow behind, becaus3e of the amount of supplies needed.... I don't mind adjusting it... It just hurts when I move it....) She looked over at Lyn, she looked like a child when she slept. Naomi smiled a bit. She stood up from her area and stretched feeling her lower back, then all the way up pop and her chest popped as well. Naomi walked towards the flaps of the entrance and opened them, letting in the breeze, the cool air brush against her hair and face. She breathed in slowly and exhaled the fresh air. She then grabbed her bag from outside the tent and began unpacking a small cooking stove. She began walking around grabbing rocks and placing them in a circle, then set up the stove, it had four legs that she stood it up on. Then she placed a pan on the eye of it. She then went and grabbed the bag of food and began thinking of what to make, they brought some meat, lettuce, tomatoes, potatoes, and other types of ingredients.
She had a couple of ideas, baked potatoes, burgers, etc. Something simple, Naomi turned towards the tent hearing Lyn get up. Lyn in a tired voice said, "N...Naomi.... I-it's...time to get up...." she yawned and exited the tent. Lyn's eyes opened slightly, "Oh... you're already awake...." "I let you sleep in, I didn't think that you would be up...." Lyn yawned, "My internal clock woke me up, but I stayed up much longer than last night and slept for four minutes before waking up and going to work...." Naomi scratched her head, "It's a good trait to have, because the way things are now, we can't afford missing any time. Naomi looked up towards the sky seeing the energy from the barrier fading in and out. (It's going out early, must be from having two people here.... But we should be safe, if anything happens....) She placed her hand on a bag that was sitting close. Lyn sat next to her and watch Naomi began cooking, she was making deer burgers, the meat was being cooked by a small flame and a little bit of magic to make it cook faster and be less tough.
Lyn helped with making spices from herbs she brought. After they were done, they began eating. Lyn smiled, "Its so good! I didn't know you could cook, who taught you?" Naomi wiped her mouth and placed her plate to the side. Lyn was shock of how fast Naomi ate. Then Naomi answered, "My mom... She taught me everything I needed to know.... I used to call her 'mama' a lot when I was growing up.... My dad died around when I entered second grade, he was a good person... My mother would take me and show me what to use what spices made certain foods taste amazing.... She was amazed of how quickly I caught on.... My dad taught me how to fight, and survive out here just in case something happened, if I had to stay in the woods for a while... Our family got into trouble with bad people... Having to result in selling drugs just to get these people off our backs, they threaten to take me away and do horrid stuff to me... Dad died from trying to prevent them from taking me... Then we went into hiding... changed our names and I began school in second grade... I was bullied during those times... people said that I looked like a monster, even been called a devil once...." Naomi sighed and said, "Sorry... I carried on...." Naomi looked away, then Lyn patted her back. "Don't worry about it, I didn't know you went through that stuff..." Naomi gave a weak smile, "...at least we were happy until dad died. My mom told me stories of how he did crazy things.... He would go out of his way to get her presents, even created some from magic... I wish I knew him a bit more than I did, he sometimes never came home.... Of course when a child doesn't see when their parent doesn't come home they start thinking ill of them... I didn't understand why he was gone.... My mom told me but I still didn't understand..." "At least you know now right? I'm glad you're not mad at him anymore..." Naomi began to tear up, "I told you at his grave that he deserved to die..... That no one will ever miss him..... I was happy when he died, he didn't hurt us anymore but when he died it still hurt our lives..." Lyn hugged Naomi and she began crying.
