JOHNNY'S BEAR & NOTE

THIRD PERSON.

johnny watches as mackenzie's figure walks away from him. his heart was beating loudly and fast. he looks down at his palm and sees the bill. he rolls his eyes before walking to a different direction than mackenzie's.

it was obvious that mackenzie was not happy with him. so he held the urge to follow her again.

mackenzie didn't realize she had wandered off into "build a bear workshop" she began to walk around the store before a white bear with a dark blue spot on its eye caught mackenize's eyes.

she stops in front of where the the bear was and looks at it. nostalgia hitting her and consuming her.

it took her back to senior year, where johnny had gifted mackenzie the same bear with a heartwarming note.

dear mackenzie frances ziegler,

happy birthday, princess. i promise that i will always love you to the moon and back. you are so special in every single way. i will always treasure all the memories. i will remember everything about you. your favourite ice cream, colour, your favourite hoodie of mine, everything! you are my one and only. happy birthday you beautiful girl.

mackenzie continues to look at the bear, letting her emotions get the best of her. she picks it up and immediately smells his cologne. she holds it in her fingers and looks at it more.

"johnny." she whispers to herself before nadia calls out her name. "mackenzie! are you alright?" nadia taps on mackenzie's shoulders.

the other girl still frozen in place and in trance with the bear. "mackenzie!" nadia says louder, which snaps mackenzie out of her small momment.

she yanks her head towards nadia's concerned one. "oh, i'm sorry nadia. i didn't mean to worry you." she awkwardly chuckles and places the bear down.

"how did you find me?" mackenzie turns her body towards nadia and blush's in embarrassment. "darius and i were just in the store across and saw you. by the way, baby. you dropped your bags." nadia explains and picks up mackenzie's bag that had dropped to the floor.

nadia hands the fallen bags to mackenzie who takes them. "thank you nadia." mackenzie smiles at her.

darius comes up and smiles at mackenzie, doing small talk. nadia turns her head at the bear mackenzie had been in trance with, realizing it was the bear that johnny had gotten her.

"is that the same bear johnny had gotten you?" darius asks mackenzie quietly and softly. mackenzie nodding.

"i just need to figure things. i'm not sure if i'm still in love with him." mackenzie sighs and tells the couple in front of her.

the two nod their heads before nadia responds to mackenzie. "i'm pretty sure johnny's willing to wait for you. isn't that what he said when you broke up with him?"

mackenzie nods in response, the three go quiet before nadia's side eye catches johnny who was walking towards them.

"hey darius, wanna go to that ice cream store over there?" johnny questions after getting all of their attention. johnny only focuses on darius even though he had the urge to turn his eyes and look at mackenzie.

darius nods and signals nadia and mackenzie that he was gonna tag along. nadia nods and watches the two boys walk away.

the girls walk out as mackenzie's sad aura was felt by nadia. "you might be in denial, mackenzie." nadia suggests the idea which made mackenzie shrug her shoulders.

they sit down at the nearby benches and continue to talk. "would it be easier now that i'm back?" mackenzie questions, nadia listening to all of her johnny issues.

"mackenzie, what's stopping you from being with him?" nadia's question made mackenzie's heart beat faster. what was stopping her?

everything was solved. she was home, she had a stable job. she was in the same city with her friends and family. every excuse mackenzie could've had, was solved.

"i don't know, nadia." mackenzie whispers, the strong and depressing aura that came off of mackenzie.

nadia has always known mackenzie was the more confident and had more power than the three of them. so when it comes to mackenzie's aura, it definitely affected nadia due to the fact she hated knowing mackenzie was upset.

"sorry if we took awhile, but we bought you guys ice cream to apologize for it." darius announces to the two girls, nadia lifts her head and grins at her boyfriend. taking the ice cream cone.

mackenzie still keeps her head down, the aura around mackenzie was starting to slowly creep up around the two males. johnny cleated his throat before speaking. "am i gonna have to take this ice cream too?" he teases, his voice completely destroys mackenzie's aura. nadia could feel it disappear off her neck.

mackenzie looks up at him and then at the mint chocolate chip cone. she tries to hold back her gasp, he remembered her favourite ice cream flavour.

mackenzie takes the cone and begins to eat it, johnny swears his heart did a little turn when mackenzie had given him a small smile. for the first time today, johnny felt at peace with his ex-girlfriend.

johnny and darius took a seat beside the girls, johnny and darius not sitting in the middle of them knowing that the two girls would like to stay beside each other. the four of them had some small talk, nadia spotting asher and annie holding hands.

"there they are!" nadia points at them and the couple smiles at their friends.

"see asher, they got ice cream!" annie faked a whine, making asher laugh at his girlfriend.

"anyways, does everyone wanna have dinner?" asher questions. nadia and darius nod, johnny also. nadia turns her head to mackenzie.

"did miss ziegler have a feast before coming here?" nadia sarcastically questions, mackenzie giggling a little.

"maybe, but it's best if i go now. thanks for this guys, let's hangout more often since we're on break." mackenzie stands up from her spot between nadia and johnny.

she grabs her bags that johnny had picked up and straightened his arms so she can grab them easier.

johnny gives her a smile, mackenzie couldn't help but give him one back. mackenzie bids them all a goodbye before reaching the exit of the huge mall.

johnny escapes the group and chases mackenzie towards the exit. he watched as she gets inside her car safely and begins to drive off. mackenzie seeing johnny's figure in her rear view mirror.

a little heart broken that she had to leave him.
