When I opened my eyes, previous sight of my room vanished and was replaced by a laboratory. Dozen of monitors, flashing different images, appeared in my sight. People dressed in plain white clothing stared intently at them, tapping away on holograpich keyboard. They all seemed too focused to notice my presence. Soon every person in the room stood up and left, walking right through me and out of the door, which made a whoosing sound as they opened. I was left standing by the doors with a middle-aged woman, dressed in white balzer, white shirt and surprise, surprise white trousers. Her hills clicked on the tiled, gray floor, as she approached me. Her face held dozen emotions when she leaned to whisper in my ear. "Be the star. And remember," she made a pause, collecting her thoughts. "You have to help them." She finished, vanishing into thin air, just as the rest of the laboratory. It melted into darkness, dissappering right before my eyes. And there I stood in complete darkness, that slowly swallowed my figure, making me disappear as well.

I shot up in a sitting position, gasped for breath. My mind was still fuzzy so it took a little longer to focus on my surrounding. When my and Newt's room finally cleared from the blurriness I breathed out in relief. Woman in white clothing was never here, it was all in my mind. It could possibly be a dream. Maybe even a memory...no, we weren't suppose to have any memories. I scrunched my eyebrows in confusion as I thought more and more about my dream and things that woman said.

"Be the star." That three words replayed in mind, increasing my confusion.

"You have to help them." Help them? Help the Gladers? How should I help someone when I knew close to nothing about myself or even the Maze? My train of thoughts was interrupted by Newt who stirred in his bed, somehow hearing that I'm awake, opened his eyes groggily and propped himself on his elbow.

"What are you doing up so early?" He asked rubbing his eyes. Should I tell him or not? I still wasn't sure if I could trust him or not.

"Uh, just a dream." I replayed.

"You know you can talk to me." Newt said, pushing himself in sitting position.

I shook my head. "Just a dream and I don't want to bother you." He shrugged and layed down, pulling blanket over his face. I inhaled deeply, my attention altering from the boy to the ceiling. I observed it, noticing every detail that could be noticed in the darkness. Wood planks were uneaven, some sticking up and some incorporated in so they made holes in the ceiling. It looked and felt like my life now. An uneaven road, going on and on, never ending, full of obstacles I'll soon have to face. I shut my eyes trying to forget about my dream, but it kept coming back, hunting me every time I would let my mind wander off. Soon a peaceful sleep washed over me, shutting off my brain and letting me wander the world of dreams, slightly better then my last one.

"Hey, greenie, wake up." Newt's voice went through my ears as he gently shook me awake. I opened my eyes seeing his face a little too close for my liking, jumped away, smacking my head at the wooden wall behind me. A grunt left my mouth as I rubbed the spot on my head. Newt laughed at the show I just put on, gently patting my shoulder.

"It's early," I whined. "Why did you wake me up?" Irritation was audible in my voice.

Small smile appeared on Newt's face. "You have tryout week. And you gotta get up for breakfast."

"Yeah," I yawned. "But why so early." Newt laughed again, motioned for me to hurry up. I did so, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes, as I let my legs hang off the side of the bed. I briefly stared at my blue jeans, wondering how I haven't asked myself what am I wearing or how do I look like yesterday after arriving. Shaking off the thoughts I stood up, nodding at Newt who opened the door and walked out into the hallway, all the way down the stairs and into the Glade bathed by morning.
