I let out a loud frustrated sigh and banged my hands against my desk, I couldn't do any more homework, my brain had reached it's maximum saturated level. My 'ruckus' caused Damon to wonder what was going on, because within a matter of seconds he vamped into my room.

I desperately needed a break but knew that Damon wouldn't agree to it unless all my work was complete. In addition to my normal school work my older brother would assign a little something extra that had to be done, and I wasn't leaving my room until every last bit was finished. This extra work had something to with how I had potential but didn't use it and it was punishment for previously slacking at school.

"Damon, please, this is all too much work and I'm so very bored. You've got to let me go, all my friends are at the grill waiting for me.", I whined. Damon let out a heavy breath and asked me what all I had left, he thought for a moment and blasély replied with a no, and told me that was way too much leftover work, I'd have to complete everything including the 3 page essay on the drawback of 'being unproductive' from him. There was no use begging, not when he was hell-bent on me getting all the work done. And so I sat there for the rest of the evening, whining away and doing all this useless homework.

I was finally done so I went down to the foyer, where Damon was, and proudly showed him my completed essay. I carefully observed him, he sat lounged against the sofa with his legs spread and a glass of bourbon in his hand, as he read through my essay. I wasn't sure why my heart was racing, until I remember the last last time (which was a mere two days ago) when he didn't approve of my work and in his rage threw it into the fireplace. Not only did I have to rewrite that essay but I also had to do another essay on a different topic by the end of the night. Well now when I think of it ... I had written absolute rubbish- but in my defence I was immensely upset with Damon for grounding me, again.

Damon was still reading my essay, his attention fixated on the paper while I stood in front of him shuffling my feet and rubbing my sweaty palm. All this commotion caused him to look up at me with his eyebrows furrowed and Damon being Damon, he smirked at me and then continued reading paper . He could sense I was nervous.

He was finally done reading it. He cleared his throat and extended his hand to give me the paper, while smirking he said, "Good". I gratefully nodded and rushed up to my room.
