A Miraculous Fanfic

True Lover

Marinette and Adrien walked hand in hand down the street, both still recovering from Mr. Agreste's words and sudden change of heart.

"Well, what should we do now?" Adrian asked.

"Uh, well, I uh, don't know, maybe. . . Wanna come over to my place and play some games?" Marinette offered.

"Sure! That sounds- Look Out!" Adrian cried and shoved Marinette out of the way as a red ribbon darted through the air towards her.

It crashed into the ground, causing a cloud of dust to rise. When the dust cleared True Lover hovered above the two, poised on the ribbon, ready to strike

"Who are you?!" Marinette and Adrien yelled in unison.

"I am true lover, and i'm here to take back what you stole from me, Marinette!" True lover announced, "Adrien is mine! All mine!"

"What?!" Adrian cried, "I'm not yours! I'm not anyone's but my own."

Chloe's face turned from the evil smile into an angry glare.

"Fine, have it your way. If you won't be mine, she won't be yours" True Lover said with hatred. She grabbed Marinette's wrist, pumped her powerful yellow wings, and flew to the top of the Eiffel tower.

"Ah ha ha ha! Say goodbye Marinette Dupain-Cheng!" True Lover cackled.

True Lover slowly released Marinette's wrist, clearly savoring every moment of terror Marinette experienced, until, Marinette was in a free fall, plumitting 1,063 feet to her certain dismiss. There was only one guaranteed way out,

"Tikki. . . "

Marinette hesitated. Everyone would see her transform here. She closed her eyes. She couldn't transform. Not here. Not now. All she had left was trust.

"Chat Noir!" She cried desperately.

Whoosh

"No need to fear, my lady," Chat's kind voice soothed.

Marinette peeped her eyes open. She was still in the air, but she wasn't falling. She was in Chat Noir's arms, flying towards a nearby rooftop. Chat gracefully landed and gently set Marinette down.

"You'd better find some place to hide," Chat Noir remarked, then winked and whispered, "Find some place to transform."

"R-right! Thank you Chat Noir!"

Marinette ran to the nearest alleyway,"Tikki spots on!"

Tikki darted out of Marinette's purse and flew up into Marinette's earrings. The earrings flashed and turned red with five black spots. Marinette gently brushed her hair out of the way to let pink shimmering sparkles float out and envelope her. Closing her hands around her face she let the pink sparkles form the familiar mask.. The sparkles continued down the rest of her body changing her gray coat and white flowery shirt into the red spotted jumpsuit. The remainder of the sparkles moved to her waist, forming a red spotted yoyo. She twirled, getting the remainder of the sparkles off.

Ladybug ran out of the alleyway and threw her yo-yo at a building, it wrapped around a chimney and slingshotted Ladybug towards the Eiffel tower. Ladybug landed on the metal structure and sure enough, beside her was Cat Noir. The two of them were facing True Lover.

"Ha ha ha! Give up Ladybug and Chat Noir! You've already lost! Just hand over your Miraculous and I'll let you live!" True lover cried jubilantly.

"Never!" Ladybug cried giving her yoyo a hard toss towards True Lover.

"Have it your way," True Lover remarked easily moving out of the way of Ladybug's yoyo.

True Lover pointed at Ladybug and her ribbon immediately charged forward. Chat Noir extended his poll and hit the ribbon, knocking it aside, then pulling the pole back towards him. He glanced down at the pole and his heart sank. His precious weapon, his only defense had a crack. The material surrounding the crack was not the usual metal but fragile stone.
